    Development and Outreach Coordinator

    Location: Ely, MN / Northeast Minnesota

    Reports to: Executive Artistic Director and Board

    Position Type: Part-time, Salaried (Exempt), 15 hours per week on average

    Salary: $15,000 annually

    Contract: 12 months, with potential for extension

    About the Role

    Northern Lakes Arts Association (NLAA) seeks a dynamic and organized Development and Outreach Coordinator to help expand our reach and ensure the sustainability of our programs. This role is ideal for a motivated professional who thrives in community engagement, fundraising, and program coordination.

    The coordinator will work closely with the Executive Artistic Director (EAD) to support marketing, fundraising, and program logistics while fostering relationships with donors, volunteers, and the arts community.

    Key Responsibilities

    Administrative & Fundraising Support

    • Assist the EAD with marketing communications, fundraising campaigns, and donor outreach.
    • Support data entry, analytics, and database management.

    Program Coordination

    • Help manage registrations, box office operations, and event logistics.
    • Provide support for NLAA programming initiatives.

    Community Outreach & Volunteer Management

    • Recruit, train, and manage volunteers.
    • Organize community appreciation initiatives and ensure effective scheduling.
    • Act as an NLAA ambassador to strengthen relationships with donors, businesses, and the community.
    • Other duties as assigned to support NLAA’s mission.

    Who We’re Looking For

    Required Skills & Experience:

    • Strong relationship-building skills with donors, foundations, and local businesses.
    • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management abilities.
    • Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
    • Persistence in donor outreach, networking, and cold calls.
    • Proficiency in database management (EveryAction preferred), Microsoft Office, and Google Suite.
    • Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) principles.
    • Public speaking and community engagement confidence.
    • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and flexible hours as needed.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Previous experience in fundraising and program coordination.
    • Familiarity with the Ely and Northeast MN arts communities.
    • Relevant degree or equivalent experience.

    Job Requirements

    Technology Needs: Reliable internet and personal laptop.

    Local Travel: Must be able to attend events in Ely.

    Flexibility: Willingness to work nights, weekends, and longer hours during peak seasons.
