    Program Coordinator

    Oak Park Area Arts Council (OPAAC) is looking for an enthusiastic, energetic self-starter with a passion for the local arts community. The Program Coordinator for OPAAC will coordinate activities that promote and support the Arts in Oak Park and surrounding communities. The Arts Council has been our communities' focal point for artistic activity. The Coordinator will support the goal of this organization to celebrate, support, and promote the local artists and arts organizations that strengthen and connect our communities.

    SPECIFIC DUTIES:

    • Support the Executive Director in planning, outreach, and engagement for our existing programs: annual grants program for art organizations in the community, Off the Wall, Mini Murals, Scholarships, and Public Art.
    • Serve as the day-to-day contact for the local arts community and village representatives.
    • Work closely with the Executive Director to foster enriching programs that impact the arts and contribute to the lives of everyone in our community.
    • Plan, attend, and participate in community arts events representing OPAAC
    • Escalate issues appropriately to the Executive Director and provide input into continuous quality improvement efforts.

    EDUCATION AND SKILLS:

    • Bachelor's degree in the arts, non-profit management, or equivalent experience; significant program coordination experience
    • Creative thinker who can help with program ideation, planning, and execution
    • Comfortable with communication in multiple formats, including text, email, telephone, and in-person
    • Familiarity with creating and maintaining a social media presence on platforms such as Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, and Tic Toc
    • Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member.
    • Active listening skills and a genuine passion for the arts
    • Demonstrates cultural competency and ability to work with diverse individuals and groups

    Compensación

    We currently looking for a full-time employee 35 hours a week. We plan to add health benefits in the near future.
