    OUR NEED

    Plant With Purpose is seeking a visionary leader to guide our Development, Development Operations, and Marketing teams into the next phase of growth and impact. As we deepen donor relationships and expand our national reach, we are looking for a leader who can integrate and elevate our fundraising strategy, marketing efforts, and donor engagement to drive sustainable revenue growth.

    This role is pivotal in cultivating transformational donor partnerships, strengthening foundation and major gift pipelines, and raising the profile of Plant With Purpose’s mission through compelling storytelling and Christ-centered campaigns. As Vice President, you will collaborate closely with our CEO, COO, and Board of Directors to shape organizational strategy, ensuring our external communications and funding efforts align with our mission at the intersection of economic empowerment and environmental restoration.

    You will bring a proven track record of securing major gifts, leading multi-channel fundraising campaigns, and overseeing marketing and communications teams in growing mission-driven organizations.     RESPONSIBILITIES

    Organizational Strategy and Leadership

    • Serve as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, contributing to organization-wide strategy and culture.
    • Collaborate with the CEO, COO, and Board to set and advance revenue and brand goals that align with mission and impact.
    • Represent Plant With Purpose to donors, institutional partners, and external audiences as a visible ambassador for our mission.
    • Partner with global colleagues and the International Programs Team to strengthen in-country fundraising capacity and alignment.

    Fundraising Strategy & Donor Development

    • Lead the development of a multi-year revenue growth strategy, ensuring the implementation of key initiatives through cross-functional teams.
    • Provide strategic oversight and coaching to high-performing development teams, including major gifts, environmental partnerships, institutional giving, and donor experience.
    • Deepen engagement with donors through vision trips, events, and customized stewardship pathways.
    • Ensure a donor-centered culture that emphasizes relationship-building, spiritual alignment, and long-term partnerships.

    Marketing & Innovation

    • Oversee the development and execution of a marketing strategy to drive organizational growth, ensuring alignment with overall revenue and impact goals.
    • Provide oversight on our national and international brand strategy, public relations, and a new national church engagement initiative.
    • Ensure consistency, quality, and alignment across all external communications and creative assets.
    • Provide executive-level insight into audience segmentation, messaging, and innovation.

    Development Operations & Systems

    • Provide leadership, prioritization, and coaching to the Development Operations Team in ensuring high-quality donor data, systems, and infrastructure to support scalable growth.
    • Maintain strategic oversight of grant systems, CRM management (Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud), representative support, and vision trip logistics.
    • Improve systems for prospecting, revenue forecasting, segmentation, and local fundraising strategy development.
    • Collaborate on real-time dashboarding and reports for internal and external audiences in Nonprofit Cloud.

    Team Leadership & Culture

    • Lead, coach, and develop a high-impact team of five management-level leaders across development, operations, and marketing.
    • Foster a team culture grounded in belonging, collaboration, spiritual vitality, and excellence.

    TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

    This position requires approximately 4-6 domestic trips per year if based outside of Southern California, with the possibility of one international trip. International travel may include visits to project sites, which at times may involve difficult and physically demanding conditions.

    WHAT WE'LL LOVE ABOUT YOU

    Minimum Required Education & Experience

    • BA in Marketing, Fund Development, Business Administration, or related field.
    • 10+ years of experience in fundraising and marketing, preferably at organizations with annual revenue of $25-$50 million.
    • 5+ years of experience at the director or senior management level, with a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams.
    • Proven track record of leading, coaching, and mentoring high-impact teams in a remote/hybrid environment, cultivating a culture of collaboration and excellence.

    Required Skills

    • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and drive results across diverse teams and functions.
    • Demonstrated success in fundraising and B2B/B2C marketing for organizations with annual revenue of $20-$50M, with a focus on strategic growth and mission alignment.
    • Experience securing major gifts through complex foundation grants, individual donor cultivation, and donor retention strategies.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build and nurture relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including donors, board members, and institutional partners.
    • Strategic financial acumen, including budgeting, financial analysis, and income forecasting, with a track record of maximizing revenue and cost efficiency.
    • Ability to synthesize complex information and translate it into clear, actionable strategies with strong follow-through and execution.
    • Proven ability to bridge functional areas, fostering collaboration and alignment across development, marketing, and operations teams to drive organizational impact.

    Preferred Skills

    • Experience working in a cross-cultural or international setting, ideally in mission-driven organizations.
    • Proficiency with Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud and marketing automation tools.
    • Established network of philanthropic advisory groups, foundations, and funders, with the ability to leverage relationships to expand organizational reach and funding.
