    ABOUT EDUCATIONAL ALLIANCE

Educational Alliance (EA) is one of the oldest and most trusted community-based nonprofits in New York City, providing New Yorkers of all ages and backgrounds with a diverse range of services for over 135 years. Headquartered on the Lower East Side, EA serves more than 35,000 people a year through a robust array of programming, including after school services, early childhood education, substance abuse and prevention, and older adult services. Every EA program has a firm commitment to inclusivity, diversity, and community.

At Educational Alliance, we are reinventing how nonprofits pioneer new programs and deliver direct services to diverse communities. We are the social safety net in action for our clients who need critical services, and we are the community center for our members who want a place to gather and take care of the health, education, and well-being of their families.

    JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Director of Institutional Giving, the Senior Grant Writer will (1) manage a portfolio of foundation and government funders that support agency-wide operations and priority initiatives, such as our Family Resource Center and asylum seeker services; (2) manage a portfolio of foundation and government funders that support our early childhood and school-based education programs; and (3) support the completion of narrative and fiscal documents related to a number of agency contracts with New York City, New York State, and Federal agencies.

As the Senior Grant Writer, you will work closely with program staff to develop grants proposals and narrative reports in support of agency programs; partner with finance to develop budgets, budget narratives, and expense reports; and collaborate with our Research and Evaluation team to analyze program data and outcomes for use in communication with funders. Finally, you will manage grants and contracts from pre-proposal through award, reporting, and closeout.
