    Position Overview

    CASA is seeking a dynamic and compassionate Executive Director (ED) to serve as its chief executive officer. The ED will lead the organization with a servant leadership approach, ensuring its mission, vision, and values are upheld while overseeing day-to-day operations, financial sustainability, and community engagement.

    This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in animal welfare while fostering collaboration, empowering staff and volunteers, and building strong relationships with the local community and donors.

    Key Responsibilities

      • Leadership & Strategy: Partner with the Board and Shelter Manager to develop and implement CASA’s strategic goals, staying informed on animal welfare trends. Lead with emotional and social intelligence utilizing a servant leadership approach.
      • Operations & Programs: Collaborate with Shelter Manager on shelter operations, ensuring humane animal care, ethical practices, and a safe, welcoming environment.
      • Fundraising & Finance: Lead fundraising efforts, including donor cultivation, grant writing, and event planning; manage and collaborate with board Treasurer regarding the annual budget with transparency.
      • Staff & Volunteers: In collaboration with Shelter Manager recruit and onboard new team members and volunteers, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented culture.
      • Community Engagement: Serve as CASA’s advocate, building strong relationships with donors, partners, and the public; oversee outreach efforts.
      • Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with laws, maintain accurate records, and implement policies to safeguard CASA’s assets and operations.

    Qualifications

    Education and Experience

      • Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business administration, animal science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
      • At least 3 years of leadership experience in a nonprofit or animal welfare organization.
      • Proven success in fundraising, financial management, and community engagement.

    Skills and Abilities

      • Strong interpersonal, communication, and social skills to build relationships across diverse groups.
      • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
      • Proficiency in financial management, including budgeting and forecasting.
      • Experience in animal welfare or shelter operations preferred.

    Other Requirements

      • Commitment to CASA’s mission and a servant leadership style.
      • Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays as needed.
      • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

    Compensation

    Salary Range: $70,000-85,000, commensurate with experience.
