    Reports To: Executive Director

    The Community Health Worker Coalition for Migrants and Refugees (CHWCMR) has been empowering

    and supporting migrants and refugees across Washington State since 2014. Our mission is to increase

    the capacity and competencies of Community Health Workers (CHWs) and Community Champions to

    meet the needs of their underserved communities. We achieve this by creating sustainable

    Job Summary:

    The Director of Business Operations serves as a key member of the executive team, participating in the

    strategic planning and leadership of CHWCMR. This position is instrumental in budgetary considerations

    and ensuring the day-to-day operational and financial health of the organization.

    Essential Functions:

    Oversee and Manage Non-Profit Operations:

    o Human Resources: Lead HR initiatives, including recruitment, onboarding, performance

    management, and employee relations.

    o Finance: Oversee financial planning, budgeting, accounting, and reporting to ensure

    financial stability and transparency.

    o Contracts: Manage grant contracts and agreements, ensuring compliance and alignment

    with organizational goals. Maintain and strengthen relationships with key partners and

    stakeholders.

    o Outreach: Develop and implement outreach strategies to enhance the organization's

    visibility and impact.

    o Customer Service: Ensure high-quality customer service and support to all stakeholders

    including participants, community health workers, donors, and funders..

    o Legal: Oversee legal matters, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

    • Strategic Planning and Execution:

    o Collaborate with the Executive Director, CHWCMR Board, and other leaders to define

    and refine the organization's strategic plan.

    o Ensure the timely and effective execution of strategic initiatives and projects.

    Organizational Leadership:

    o Provide leadership that aligns with the organization's mission and strategic goals.

    o Drive operational and financial performance, working closely with the Executive Director

    and the CHWCMR Board.

    o Partner with the Executive Director and other leaders to achieve favorable financial

    outcomes, including profitability, cash flow, and fundraising.

    o Set ambitious and achievable goals for performance and growth.

    o Lead efforts in budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation to support organizational

    priorities.

    o Make informed and timely decisions based on data and insights and consider the

    potential impact of decisions on various stakeholders.

    o Articulate ideas and expectations clearly to team members and foster open and

    transparent communication within the team.

    o Delegate tasks effectively to team members based on their strengths and empower

    team members to take ownership of their responsibilities.

    o Address and resolve conflicts promptly and constructively and promote a positive and

    collaborative team environment.

    o Demonstrate empathy and understanding towards team members and manage one's

    emotions and those of others effectively.

    o Adjust leadership style to suit different situations and team dynamics and embrace

    change and guide the team through transitions smoothly.

    o Provide guidance and support to help team members grow and develop.

    Compliance:

    o Serve as the Compliance Officer, ensuring adherence to all policies, procedures, and

    legal requirements.

    o Conduct regular reviews and updates of policies and procedures to maintain

    compliance.

    o Participate in and oversee legal investigations as needed.

    Risk Management:

    o Develop and oversee risk mitigation plans

    o Coordinate with various departments to implement risk controls.

    Board of Directors:

    o Actively participate in Board of Directors meetings, providing updates and insights on

    organizational performance and strategic initiatives.

    o Ensure the board is well-informed about the organization's condition and key

    influencing factors.

    Required Education and Experience:

    • Undergraduate degree in business or related field
    • 7 years: operations and financial management experience
    • 3 years: director level experience
    • Strong business acumen and presentation skills
    • Prior non-profit experience

    Preferred education and experience:

    • MBA, MHA, or MPH preferred
    • Effective written and communication skills in English
    • Bilingual Spanish/English
    • Prior work with BIPOC communities
