    Descripción

Are you a visionary, a doer, and a bit of a dreamer with a passion for creativity, collaboration, and impeccable organization? Sattya Collective is on the lookout for an Executive Director (ED) to lead our team, refine and execute our big-picture vision, and ensure every project runs like clockwork (or at least controlled creative chaos).

The ED will work closely with the Board of Directors to set the course for Sattya’s future, inspire innovation, and keep us at the heart of Kathmandu’s thriving creative community. This role requires not only bold ideas but also the ability to manage people, processes, and priorities with clarity and confidence.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Leadership and Vision

    • Define and communicate the big picture—where is Sattya going, and how do we get there?
    • Keep Sattya aligned with its mission of creativity, collaboration, and community.
    • Innovate new projects and push boundaries while staying true to our grassroots, DIY ethos.

    Governance and Board Relations

    • Act as the go-to person for the Board, keeping them informed with updates, insights, and well-thought-out plans.
    • Facilitate open communication with the Board, discussing successes, challenges, and opportunities for growth.

    Program Oversight and Development

    • Oversee Sattya’s programs—think workshops, the makerspace, residencies, events, and more.
    • Work with the team to enhance and expand programs, ensuring they remain innovative and community-focused.
    • Identify trends, needs, and opportunities to keep Sattya ahead of the curve.

    Team Leadership and Organizational Management

    • Inspire, mentor, and lead a diverse, talented team of staff and volunteers.
    • Foster a collaborative and supportive workplace that encourages creativity, learning, and growth.
    • Ensure smooth day-to-day operations by keeping everyone organized, aligned, and motivated.

    Community Engagement and Representation

    • Represent Sattya at events, gatherings, and in the media.
    • Build and nurture partnerships with local and international collaborators, donors, and stakeholders.
    • Champion Sattya’s mission, celebrating its successes and sharing its impact.

    Fundraising and Financial Stewardship

    • Partner with the Business Director to develop and implement sustainable funding strategies (grants, sponsorships, partnerships, and more).
    • Oversee financial planning and resource allocation to ensure the organization’s long-term stability.
    • Approach funding challenges creatively, knowing that keeping the lights on is just as important as keeping spirits high.

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • Leadership Experience: You’ve successfully led teams or organizations, ideally in non-profits, creative industries, or community-focused initiatives.
    • Organizational Skills: You’re a pro at juggling priorities, managing details, and keeping projects on track.
    • People Management: You know how to motivate, manage, and support a team with empathy and efficiency.
    • Communication: Whether it’s rallying the team, inspiring donors, or chatting with artists, you know how to connect.
    • Strategic Thinking: You can see the big picture and the steps needed to get there without losing sight of the details.
    • Fundraising Expertise: You’ve got a proven track record of securing funding while staying true to an organization’s values.
    • Adaptability: When challenges arise, you stay calm, think creatively, and make smart decisions.
