Using earned, owned and paid media, strategic partnerships, advantageous placements and other innovative outreach avenues, you will introduce potential advocates and funders to our cause: saving hallowed ground and helping more Americans appreciate the ongoing resonance of our nation’s history. As we mark the 250th anniversary of the Revolutionary War and our nation’s founding, you will encourage Americans to experience the power of place by visiting battlefields and historic sites. Please note: the creative functions of this role are outside our social media footprint.

    Major Duties and Responsibilities

    • Advance messaging that defines the Trust brand and builds relationships with partner organizations to help us expand reach and impact
    • Conceptualize and create display advertising and graphic content with internal teams and outside contractors. Maintain external advertising calendar, making timely and meaningful updates in worthwhile outlets
    • Ensure appropriate and consistent use of Trust brand and voice in collateral, as well as accuracy of programmatic information and metrics
    • Evaluate and pursue brand-building opportunities, including advertising, sponsorships and content marketing
    • Promote Trust programs that touch communities far from battlefields, like our History Field Trip Grant Program and American Revolution Experience traveling exhibit.
    • Liase with battlefields, historic sites and museums to highlight the “power of place” and encourage visitation to meaningfully marking the nation’s 250th anniversary
    • Contribute to writing and production of Hallowed Ground, our award-winning membership magazine
    • Quantify efficacy of outreach efforts and refine techniques to maximize impact

    Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience

    • Demonstrated ability to balance multiple priorities and meet firm deadlines
    • An eye for good design – ideally paired with experience in graphic design and visual storytelling platforms; photography skills an added bonus
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, coupled with a results-oriented and problem-solving mindset
    • Familiarity with principles of cause and/or destination marketing
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite required; experience with Drupal CMS and digital asset management systems highly valued
