    Description

    The Program & Development Lead plays a key role in developing, executing, and advancing CSN’s programming. In directing mission-furthering events and programs, executing marketing and branding efforts, and cultivating funding and outreach opportunities, the position comprehensively furthers the mission of the organization.

    The Program & Development Lead oversees all events and conferences, virtual or in person, ensuring that they are professionally executed, mission and brand aligned, and in service of members/potential members. This includes management of vendors, oversight of contracts/budgets, and project management of all preparation and execution. In addition to events, this position supports the development and execution of prospective programming as may be developed over time. The position oversees new and existing educational and community-building programs that are compelling to all stakeholders within the membership community. The Program & Development Lead also determines how CSN can best build the capacity and effectiveness of its members by ensuring that CSN’s services and programs are appropriately valued.

    The Program & Development Lead oversees all marketing and branding, ensuring that the organization’s staff, events, and materials present a unified brand identity. This includes but is not limited to managing website design/maintenance, program and event marketing design/deployment, brand design/deployment, and marketing and branding vendors.

    This role also includes fund development, human resources support, systems management, and general operational support.This role works closely with and reports to the Executive Director, while also supporting other staff.

    This is a non-exempt position. This role is anticipated to be part-time at 30 hours per week and is benefits eligible.

    This role may be fulfilled fully remote but has occasional travel requirements (2-3 times/year). Some evening and weekend work may also occasionally be required for events, programs, and member engagement, but advance notice would be provided.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    Conference Management (35%) –

    • Lead the planning and execution of the bi-annual CSN conference, the Social Purpose Real Estate Summit
    • Create the scope of work needed for the event
    • Create the project management plan
    • In partnership with the Executive Director, build the staffing and volunteer plan, partnership strategy, and budget
    • Manage the site selection and vendor selection processes
    • Lead all content development for the website, branding and marketing materials, marketing emails, outreach strategy, etc.
    • Build and execute key partnerships in the conference design process including a Working Group and Steering Committee Subcommittee
    • In partnership with the Executive Director, oversee the Call for Speakers and content selection process
    • Oversee speaker communication and coordination
    • Set up registration and payment options for the event
    • Oversee volunteer recruitment and management for the event
    • Manage attendee recruitment efforts and communications before the event
    • Support sponsorship outreach and sponsorship benefits management
    • Execute all on-site planning and management including coordinating with key vendors on logistics such as catering, AV management, transportation, etc.
    • Coordinate the on-site tours, networking activities, and key events such as the opening reception, VIP events, dine-around dinners, and more
    • Oversee all on-site event communication including app management, agenda and material distribution, signage, etc.
    • Manage vendors, oversight of contracts/budgets, and in-person event project management, as needed
    • Evaluate conference through surveys and participant feedback and work with the team to make changes as necessary
    • Create post conference reports and execute any follow up after event, as needed

    Fund Development (30%) –

    • Support the research and administration of grant seeking and fundraising opportunities
    • In partnership with the Executive Director, craft funding applications and reports
    • In partnership with the Executive Director, do outreach for specific fundraising efforts related to CSN programming, events, and conferences
    • Steward relationships with past, current and future funders

    Program Design & Development (15%) –

    • Develop & design programming in response to new initiatives or funding opportunities
    • Writing and proposal creation to support the above

    Marketing & Communications (20%) –

    • Oversee marketing and branding efforts to create a consistent brand identity
    • Work with the organization’s marketing agency to oversee website design/maintenance, email marketing, social media, and other general communication efforts
    • Write content as needed for the website, blog, and other materials
    • Manage the monthly newsletter and marketing calendar, working with the team and additional contributors to produce content
    • Collaborate with team to build overall marketing and branding strategy for the organization, including building brand recognition, and managing any branding vendors

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Excellent attention to detail;
    • Ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks and projects;
    • Strong project management skills and operational mindset
    • Demonstrated commitment to meeting the needs of clients;
    • Strong organizational and creative problem-solving skills
    • Ability to manage complex situations and meet deadlines;
    • Experience working with database systems to maintain data integrity;
    • Demonstrated knowledge of, or interest in, CSN key issue areas: nonprofit real estate development, shared services, and capacity building.
    • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills;
    • Familiarity with marketing techniques and strategies;
    • Ability to hold information confidential with excellent judgment;
    • Strong writing skills and ability to write high quality marketing content
    • Excellent skills with technology applications: Zoom, online survey tools, MS Office Suite products, Cloud computing, e-mail marketing platforms, social media, etc.
    • Ability to develop creative and new content and programming that attracts CSN members and the broader nonprofit shared space/service community to share knowledge and build connections.
    • Resourceful, self-starter with an ability to work independently and as a member of a team. Ability to think critically and creatively to find effective solutions.
    • Ability to hold self and others accountable for high-quality, timely, and effective results.

    Education and Experience:

    • Undergraduate degree or equivalent years of related work experience
    • 5+ years of experience in a similar position preferably in a program support capacity for an association or nonprofit organization
