    Descripción

    The Worker Education and Resource Center, Inc. (WERC) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization originally founded in 2002 in partnership with the Service Employees International Union, Local 721 and the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services.

    WERC is currently looking to fill the full-time position of Program Manager of Supportive Services.

    Rate of Pay – $90,000 Annually

    A Background Check is required in accordance with California Fair Chance Act and a credit check is requited for this position.

    The office working hours are 8:30am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday (offsite schedule may vary depending on program needs).

    This is an optional hybrid position with at least three (3) days working in-office and two (2) days working remote. Remote work is not required, it is an option. The hybrid schedule is subject to change based on the needs of the business. We are in Pico Union/Westlake area, adjacent to Downtown Los Angeles.

    Remote work must be done with a dedicated workspace that provides the same confidentiality as that offered within the office environment.

    Candidates offered employment that choose to work remotely on any days offered are required, while working remotely, to have the non-public access necessary offices tools at their remote location to perform the essential duties and responsibilities. Examples are high-speed internet connection, printer, scanner adding machine and telephone along with the necessary office supplies.

    Candidates offered employment will also have the option of working in the office with zero (0) remote days and all supplies being provided within the office.

    For candidates offered employment, remote work is not allowed to occur more than 50 miles away from the business address without prior written approval.

    Candidates must be able to travel to sites within Los Angeles County to support training programs and a valid current unexpired California driver’s license and proof of auto insurance is required for this position.

WERC implements this mission through (1) customized training programs and supportive services for workers, including economically disadvantaged, justice-involved, and peer support workers, (2) collaborative partnerships and capacity building with employers, and (3) thought leadership.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Supervise Case Management and Program Assistant Team.
    • Develop and implement policies and procedures that enhance case management practices at WERC.
    • Coordination of MSW internship program, which includes liaising with School of Social Work programs for the recruitment of MSW interns, tracking of program requirements, and the supervision of MSW interns.
    • Oversee Cash Card Supportive Service Management for eligible Participants ensuring internal controls are followed and ensuring that enrolled Participants are receiving supportive services timely and in accordance with our referral and provided services.
    • Oversee the management of Participant files ensuring internal controls are met and contract and/or grant requirements.
    • Perform internal audits of Participant files to ensure proper documentation is met in accordance with contract/grant requirements and internal guidelines.
    • Ability to manage petty cash (AKA Cash Card) process with accuracy and manage Participants receiving Supportive Services timely.
    • Develop and facilitate training related to supportive services and case management for internal staff, participants, funders, and public sector/community organizations.
    • Participates in the identification of new programs and funding initiatives and assists with development activities, such as grant writing, fund development and fundraising.
    • Foster collaborative relationships with stakeholders to enhance WERC’s case management referral network.
    • Work in a multi-disciplinary team environment, utilizing professional, open and respectful communication. Maintain a solution-focused, strengths-based and participant-centered approach with managers, co-workers and participants of WERC.

    Essential Qualifications

    Education and Experience: Previous experience managing and supervising programs and working under grant requirements, preferably with a background in workforce, homeless services, reentry services, behavioral health, healthcare, or other human services related work.

    AND

    Graduation from a college or university with a master's degree in social work/social welfare, psychology, or related field. CA clinical licensure for a minimum of two years in good standing is required.

    With

    Five (5) years of recent (within the last year) related supervisory experience, including two (2) years of performing case planning/case management duties in a public or private social services agency.

    This position requires a minimum of five (5) years recent, previous verifiable supervisory experience, candidates without at least 5 years of supervisory experience will not be considered for this position.

    • Ability to travel to sites within Los Angeles County to support training programs.
    • A valid drivers license is required
    • Proof of auto insurance is required

    Essential Physical requirements

    • The physical requirements indicated below are some examples of the physical aspects that the position must perform in conducting essential job functions.
    • Persons performing service in this position will exert 10 to 20 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
    • This type of work requires a combination of sitting, walking, and standing for periods of time.
    • The noise level of the work environment is usually moderate to high. This is a fast-paced office and/or classroom environment that requires the ability to remain focused with a lot going on around you. The employee’s essential functions are conducted in a climate-controlled office.

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to: perform each essential duty satisfactorily; help maintain a healthy work environment; initiate and maintain professional interactions and communication with WERC employees and others; and interact with all levels of organizational staff and management, outside auditors, community partners, and vendors.
