    Summary

    Climate Lead uses an in-house Knowledge Management System (KMS) containing climate information critical to its mission. The Analyst, Knowledge Management manages and maintains this critical system and serves as a force-multiplier for the Global Climate Strategies (GCS) team and all of Climate Lead. It is a critical role that applies knowledge management skills to enable the Climate Lead team to lift the most promising solutions to solve the climate crisis.

    Managerial Responsibilities

    This role does not have any managerial or lead responsibilities.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Manage and administer the knowledge management system for GCS with an eye towards efficiency and scalability (70%)

    • Capture incoming climate solutions and strategies and catalog them in a manner that facilitates a seamless discovery and matching process with new climate donors.
    • Support the GCS team in the process and documentation of diligencing climate solutions and strategies
    • Manage the prioritization of climate solutions and strategies for diligence in partnership with DMD for GCS
    • Catalog and structure other critical climate information in discoverable and usable formats
    • Systematically conduct data quality controls for KMS to ensure all information is up to date and complete
    • At the request of GCS team members, run reports to assess potential gaps or draw conclusions based on information in KMS

    Support Climate Lead’s use of knowledge and data for informed decision making across the organization (30%)

    • Lead the governance, optimization, and continuous improvement of knowledge management processes and systems, ensuring that Climate Lead teams have access to the information they need to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency
    • Partner with Operations and Philanthropy teams to effectively and efficiently design, prioritize, and implement Salesforce functions
    • Lead the development and implementation of changes to KMS and additional supporting tools that increase efficiency and usability
    • Conduct trainings, maintain documentation, and provide live support for new and existing Climate Lead staff on KMS

    • Process Mapping Assess existing infrastructure and employees to identify process and policy improvements; improve tools to help Climate Lead use data to inform its highest priority work and provide insights as the most effective donor strategies.
    • Team Training Provide feedback, instruction, and development guidance to help others excel in development operations systems use; engaged in development and commitment to others to support specific behaviors, skills, or knowledge needed to ensure development operations success and improvements.
    • Collaboration Foster collaboration amongst a diverse group of stakeholders to scale systems, processes, and tools in a rapidly changing environment.
    • Entrepreneurial – Thrives in a start-up environment and the associated challenges and is excited about developing new processes, best practices and creative problem solving.

    Qualifications

    Education and Experience

    • 3-5 years of experience using Salesforce
    • Prior experience with building or administering a knowledge management system
    • Prior experience with large data sets, ideally in climate but not required
    • Prior climate experience is preferred but not required

    Work Environment

    Climate Lead is headquartered in San Francisco, CA. The Prospect Research Associate operates in a hybrid environment out of our San Francisco office. There is an option for this position to be remote for candidates based in the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area.

    Salary Range

    $97,500.00 - $105,000.00
