    Descripción

Beyond Fossil Fuels (BFF) is an alliance of civil society groups committed to transforming the European energy sector. We strive for a just transition to a fossil-free, fully renewables-based power system that protects our climate and people. This campaign is supported by a BFF secretariat, with staff spread across Europe. We’re excited to introduce a new role: the Corporate Campaign Communications Consultant.

The Corporate Communications Consultant will work with the Communications team to support the Corporate Finance and Utilities (CFU) strand of our campaign, which includes sub-campaigns focused on the tech sector, energy utilities, financial institutions, and the steel sector. The Corporate Communications Consultant will assist with the communications strategy and implementation of the campaign launch, liaising with partners, media and external service providers as required. The successful candidate will be part of the BFF secretariat team, reporting to the Senior Communications Manager and working closely with the Corporate Finance and Utilities campaign team.

If you are passionate about the difference civil society can make in the energy transition, and are an experienced communications professional, we want to hear from you.

    • Position: Corporate Campaign Communications Consultant
    • Preferable start date: 15 November 2024
    • Employment type: Part-time (80% of a full time position) freelance contract.
    • Locations we hire in: any European country.

Please note that we do not have the resources to relocate candidates to Europe from outside the continent.

    Your responsibilities

    • Develop the communication strategy for the area of our campaign focusing on corporations, financial institutions and power utilities.
    • Collaborate with campaigners and the communications team to identify effective ways to influence these stakeholders and craft compelling narratives that resonate with them.
    • Conduct audience analysis to identify which audiences have influence over these stakeholders, leveraging external providers as needed to gain insights and enhance our approach.
    • Monitor media discourse related to corporations, financial institutions, utilities, and the steel sector to identify newsworthy issues and campaign opportunities.
    • Create communication materials, including press releases, briefings, media responses, messaging guidelines, Q&As, factsheets, and reports. Coordinate with BFF secretariat colleagues, partners, and allies.
    • Manage media relations for our CFU initiatives, ensuring effective outreach and engagement.
    • Keep the BFF partner network informed and engaged in CFU campaign developments by producing communication updates and resource packs that they can use to amplify our messages.
    • Collaborate with the BFF secretariat's social media manager and digital officer to create copy, visuals, reports, and social media graphics that effectively communicate our campaign goals.
    • Lead CFU communication efforts during key moments, events, and reports, ensuring a unified and impactful message.
    • Provide input and targeted support to the European Fossil Free Steel Network (EFFSN) on communications strategies for the steel sector transition, ensuring alignment with our broader campaign objectives.
