    Job Title: Vice President of Programs

    Position Overview:

    The Vice President of Programs (VPP) is a key leadership role within the Williams Syndrome Association (WSA), responsible for overseeing and enhancing the organization's programs and services. This position ensures the successful execution of WSA’s mission by managing program development, implementation, evaluation, and strategic initiatives. The VPP collaborates closely with the Executive Director, Director of Development, staff, contractors, and volunteers to maintain high-quality programs and services that support individuals with Williams syndrome and their families.

    This role is ideal for a mission-driven leader with a passion for making a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals with Williams syndrome and their families. The VPP will play a vital role in shaping and sustaining WSA’s programs, ensuring they continue to serve the community effectively and inclusively.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of WSA programs and services, ensuring alignment with the organization’s mission and strategic goals.
    • Oversee program staff, contractors, vendors, and volunteers, providing supervision, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.
    • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment by facilitating team meetings, one-on-one staff check-ins, and performance evaluations.
    • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including families, partners, healthcare professionals, researchers, and advocacy groups.
    • Manage program budgets, monitor financial resources, and oversee expenditures to maximize impact and efficiency.
    • Integrate WSA’s programs with overall operations, including volunteer engagement, internal and external communications, resource development, evaluation, and strategic planning.
    • Support fundraising and development efforts in collaboration with the Director of Development.
    • Represent WSA at conferences, public events, and other engagement opportunities to strengthen awareness and advocacy.
    • Demonstrate dedication to and caring for people with Williams Syndrome and their families.
    • Be a team player. Participate actively in organizational meetings and activities. Support other WSA team members with tasks as needed.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in education, nonprofit management, public administration, or a related field, or five years of relevant experience.
    • Proven experience in program design, development, and evaluation within a nonprofit or mission-driven organization.
    • Experience with developmental disability communities.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage and develop staff, contractors, and volunteers.
    • Strong strategic planning, project management, and organizational skills.
    • Experience in financial management, including budgeting and grant compliance.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Ability to build and sustain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
    • High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism when handling sensitive information.
    • Empathy and sensitivity to the needs of individuals and families affected by Williams syndrome.
    • Proficiency in database management, Microsoft Office, and Google Workplace.

    Preferred Qualification:

    • Personal and/or professional knowledge & experience with Williams syndrome.
    • Master’s degree in related field
    • Experience and/or training in neurodiversity and inclusion.

    Working Environment:

    • Full-time (40-50 hours per week) salaried position.
    • Remote work with occasional travel required.
    • Must have a reliable internet connection and a dedicated workspace.
