ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT
The World Food Programme (WFP) is the world's largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger around the globe and the leading humanitarian organization saving lives and changing lives, providing food assistance in emergencies, and working with communities to improve nutrition and build resilience.
For its efforts to fight hunger, for its contribution to improving conditions of peace in conflict-affected areas and for acting as a driver of efforts to prevent the use of hunger as a weapon of war and conflict, WFP was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2020.
Every day, WFP works around the world to ensure that no child goes to bed hungry and that the poorest and most vulnerable, especially women and children, can access the nutritious food they need. In emergencies, WFP gets food to where it is needed, saving the lives of victims of war, civil strife, and natural disasters. After an emergency, WFP uses the food to help communities rebuild their lives.
WFP has been present in Ecuador since 1964, being an innovative partner that supports government policies to promote food and nutrition security, gender equality and food sovereignty, targeting its actions in support of the most vulnerable populations (More information at https://es.wfp.org/paises/ecuador).
WFP Ecuador’s Country Strategic Plan (CSP, 2023-2027) focuses on reducing hunger and malnutrition, achieving food security, and moving towards the consolidation of sustainable, equitable and inclusive food systems.
This position is based in Quito - Ecuador and reports to Country Director.
THE ROLE: To lead a comprehensive range of procurement support activities, performing research and analysis, and providing recommendations to support the efficient and effective procurement services

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Education:
Completion of bachelor degree, advanced university degree in business administration, foreign trade, Commercial Engineering o related fields. We valuated Post-graduate training or certification in Procurement or other related field.
Experience: Seven or more years of progressively responsible work experience in the relative business stream with experience in general administrative work.
Knowledge and Skills:
Language: Fluency (level C) in English and Spanish languages
General Service (Field): Fluency in both oral and written communication in the UN language in use at the duty station and in the duty station’s language, if different.
