    Description

    Catalyst Now is seeking a Systems Learning Coordinator

    Full-time Position

    Catalyst Now – A Global Movement of Social Change Innovators

    Launched at the World Economic Forum in January 2020, Catalyst Now is a global community of social entrepreneurs, funders and other social change innovators who believe collaborative action and bold, new strategies are needed to address the crises of our time.

    Joining forces with communities, governments, businesses, funders and others, Catalyst Now members are working toward changing systems at all levels. Cumulatively, members have already impacted the lives of millions, often with limited resources. Together, we envision the advancement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for all.

    About the Systems Learning Team

    The Systems Learning team fosters the ongoing evolution of a learning ecosystem designed by and for social innovators. Our primary goal is to create meaningful opportunities for shared learning and nurture communities of practice to shift dominant cultures and paradigms, ultimately enabling structural and systemic change. We collaborate closely with social entrepreneurs, innovators, government entities, civil society organizations, and academics across the globe.

    Given the complexity of systems change, the team connects social entrepreneurs and academics to promote a sustainable culture of systems change while advancing research, shaping curricular offerings, and influencing practice, education, and policies. To achieve this, the Systems Learning group designs and delivers the Systems Learning Series, focusing on diverse topics related to social innovation and systems change. Additionally, the group builds educator communities through the Academic Hubs, supports research in the field, and curates valuable knowledge resources.

    This new position was created to help launch the Catalyst Learning Journey online courses and coordinate the Systems Learning Series. The ideal candidate has a background in social sciences, international development, business, nonprofit management, or a related field, and ideally has 3-6 years of experience.

    Responsibilities

    • Coordinating systems learning online events, involving overall project management and organizing sessions that foster collaboration between social entrepreneurs and their peers.
    • Leading and developing the Catalyst Social Innovator Learning Journey, involving identifying high-quality social innovation content, collaborating with subject matter experts, and creating course materials. This includes writing course modules and video scripts, as well as developing multimedia visual aids, interactive exercises, and assessment tools for multiple online courses.
    • Uploading course content to an online learning platform, such as Coursera or another learning management system, and identifying and securing partners for course certification.
    • Ensuring that content aligns with learning objectives and making modifications or revisions to courses based on evaluation feedback.
    • Supporting monthly group meetings at different stages, from agenda setting to taking minutes and sending follow-up emails;
    • Creating, editing and updating documents for various group purposes;
    • Coordinating relations with members within the Catalyst Now network;
    • Being an active part of the Systems Learning department, supporting the work of other teams when needed across the Catalyst Now Secretariat;
    • Assisting with projects including organising events focusing on systems learning between social entrepreneurs and peers, which may include internal events like Catalysing Change week or external partner events.
    • Other ad hoc tasks.

    Requirements and Skills

    • Master’s degree, preferably. Degrees related to international development, social sciences, business, nonprofit management or a related field;
    • Relevant professional experience of 3-6 years is required;

    • Fluency in English and another language, preference for another UN language;
    • Proactive in seeking out solutions and pre-empting challenges;
    • Proven organisational skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and across time zones;
    • Flexible with an open mind who can easily adapt to new tasks given at short notice;
    • Ability to manage time effectively and adapt to changing environments;
    • Excellent attention to detail and willingness to learn from experience;
