OVERVIEW
Boston Impact Initiative (BII) is a nonprofit impact investment fund founded in 2013 that invests integrated capital—equity, debt and grant capital—in social enterprises and community-owned and controlled real estate to build wealth and asset-building opportunities for communities of color. Through our field-building and education programs, we're transforming the impact investing field to make economic and racial justice integral to place-based investment strategies.
As an emerging Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), we currently manage two distinct funds:
BII offers impact investing education and training. Through our Emerging Fund Manager fund manager cohort program, we have trained 69 fund managers from 30 organizations, resulting in 18 launched funds deploying over $9M to diverse small businesses.
BII is growing from an 11-person team to 15 employees over the next year, with a net $3.5M annual operating budget.
As we expand our investing and field-building work, we’re seeking a Senior Marketing and Communications Manager who will effectively communicate BII’s work to our stakeholders. The main areas of responsibility are marketing and branding, investor, donor, board, portfolio company, media communications, fundraising support, event planning, project management, policy and advocacy, amplifying the BII Brand, and managing consultants.
