The Development and Outreach Department of Human Rights Watch (HRW) is seeking applicants for the full-time position of Manager to manage fundraising and outreach events in Canada, specifically the Greater Toronto Area (“GTA”) and Ottawa. This position is based in Toronto, with other locations in Canada considered, with periodic travel as needed. The Manager reports to the Canada Senior Director of Development and Outreach based in Toronto.
The successful candidate will work with HRW’s top supporters in Toronto and across Canada to build support for HRW’s work at a truly critical time. The Manager will support the stewardship and growth of HRW’s donor base and presence in Canada.

Qualifications:
Education: A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in communications/marketing, social sciences, international relations or related studies is preferred.
Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of donor management or fundraising experience and demonstrated success in managing large-scale events is required.
We are eager to hear from candidates who can perform the essential functions of this role even if they do not meet all of our desired qualifications – particularly if they are from backgrounds underrepresented in the fundraising or NGO sectors.
Related Skills and Knowledge:
Other: Occasional night and weekend work to support events is required.
