    Description

    The position is to be filled as soon as possible, with a contract duration of two years.

    As Head of Supply Chain Management, you will lead the Supply Chain Management Unit and be responsible for all process standards in logistics and purchasing, both in Germany and in our project countries. A specific goal over the next few years will be the introduction of the SAP system in global supply chain management and the transformation of all processes. With your skills in lean management methods, you will actively shape and organize this transformation process and thus implement Welthungerhilfe's strategy in logistics and purchasing.

    Your responsibilities

    • Global SAP implementation in logistics
    • Transformation of all global supply chain processes
    • Analysis and optimization of purchasing and logistics processes to increase efficiency with implementation of lean management methods
    • Development and implementation of purchasing and logistics strategies
    • Management of ordering processes including control of purchasing costs, identification of savings potential and implementation of cost reduction measures, as well as contract negotiations
    • Ensuring transparent and audit-proof operational procurement at home and abroad
    • Identifying local and global synergies to better support the organization's programs and projects

    Your profile

    • Completed (technical) university degree with a focus on logistics, supply chain management, lean management or comparable qualification
    • At least 5 years of relevant professional experience as a manager in an international logistics environment and international procurement processes
    • Practical knowledge in the development and implementation of logistics processes and in project management using lean thinking methods (e.g. Six Sigma, Kaizen, value stream mapping, Kanban, agile methods, Scrum, project and change management), ideally from the for-profit sector
    • Transformation and system implementation experience, especially SAP
    • Experience in global purchasing processes with global control from COEs
    • Professional demeanor in different hierarchical levels and cultural circles, assertiveness and a communication style appropriate to the target group
    • Very good written and spoken English; knowledge of German and/or French is an advantage
