    Direct Reports: Chief Program Officer, Chief Development & Communications Officer, Director of Accounting and Human Resources

    The Opportunity

    We are seeking an experienced leader to serve as Executive Director (ED) of our non-profit organization. The ideal candidate will combine strategic thinking with practical execution skills to advance our mission and create lasting social impact. This visionary leader will drive organizational excellence while expanding LET’S GO’s impact across the educational and workforce development landscape. By combining inspirational leadership with sophisticated management abilities, they will advance the organization in terms of culture, capability, processes, and impact. A major focus of this position is generating revenue.

    Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED will provide strategic leadership for the organization's programs, operations, fundraising, and public engagement initiatives. This role offers the opportunity to work with an engaged board of directors, an experienced leadership group, a high-performing team AND make a significant difference in the lives of youth.

    For over 15 years, LET’S GO Boys and Girls (LET’S GO) has worked to create economic success for underserved and marginalized communities through STEM education and workforce development. With an annual budget of approximately $1.5-$2.3 million and a staff of 20 dedicated individuals, we are poised for our next phase of growth and impact.     Key Responsibilities

    Strategic Leadership & Vision

    • Lead the development and implementation of the organization's strategic plan
    • Foster innovation and guide the organization's growth and evolution
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with the Board of Directors, including:
      • Providing timely and relevant information on significant organizational matters
      • Facilitating effective board governance by furnishing necessary reports and data
      • Implementing board decisions and supporting board initiatives
      • Serving as a liaison between the board, the organization’s staff, and operations.
    • Ensure organizational sustainability through sound fiscal management

    Fundraising & External Relations

    • Serve as the primary spokesperson and public face of the organization
    • Cultivate and maintain relationships with major donors, foundations, and key stakeholders
    • Actively engage with STEM, government and corporate communities to advance organizational objectives
    • Coordinate fundraising efforts with the Chief Development & Communication Officer and the Board Development committee to secure and diversify revenue streams
    • Build strategic partnerships with other organizations and community leaders
    • Maintain a positive and ideal image to the public about the organization

    Operational Excellence

    • Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient and effective program delivery
    • Manage and develop a high-performing senior leadership team
    • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
    • Maintain fiscal responsibility and oversee budget planning and management
    • Prepare and present reports on the operational condition of the organization
    • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of STEM industry trends, nonprofit sector development, and competitive landscape to inform strategic decision-making

    • Recruit, develop, and retain talented staff

    Qualifications

    Required Experience

    • Minimum 3-5 years executive leadership experience in a non-profit organization, educational institution, or mission-driven enterprise. Experience should demonstrate successful organizational growth, stakeholder engagement, and strategic resource management.
    • Proven track-record of successful fundraising and donor relations
    • Experience working with a Board of Directors
    • Demonstrated success in strategic planning and organizational growth
    • Strong financial acumen and budget management experience
    • Educational Institution or STEM field career experience

    • Exceptional communication and public speaking abilities
    • Strong relationship-building and networking capabilities
    • Proven ability to lead and inspire diverse teams
    • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
    • Understanding of non-profit governance and compliance
    • Strong expertise in Microsoft Office product suite

    Education

    • Master’s or Doctorate degree in a STEM field or other related area is preferred; or,
    • Equivalent experience in a similar role or combination of experience and education is acceptable
    • Relevant certifications in non-profit management a plus

    Compensation & Benefits

    This position is an outstanding opportunity for a highly motivated non-profit executive. The starting salary will be commensurate with candidate experience and in the range of $100-$120k. In addition to a positive organization culture, our benefits include:

    Physical Requirements

    The position requires periodic travel using a personal vehicle throughout the Washington DC/Baltimore City/Anne Arundel County service area. Based in Baltimore City, this hybrid role allows flexibility to balance in-person and remote work to effectively lead the organization, engage with staff, and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and community partners. Due to the nature of our work with youth, the successful candidate must be able to pass an FBI fingerprint background check.
