    Position

    Under the guidance of the VP, Strategy & Development, the Director, Philanthropy creates and oversees the implementation of a strategic approach to fundraising which may include major gifts, annual fund, planned giving, corporate and foundation giving and special events. The Director, Philanthropy will manage relationships, drive donor engagement, and oversee the foundation and corporate fundraising strategy. The role will focus on relationship-building, pipeline development, and donor retention to ensure sustainable funding growth.

    Reporting to the VP, Strategy & Development, the Director supervises the Development Manager and works closely with the Development Operations Manager and is a member of the Leadership Team

    Key Responsibilities

    Major & Mid-Level Portfolio Management

    • Lead and cultivate a portfolio of major and mid-level donors ($10k-$99K).
    • Develop and implement stewardship strategies to strengthen donor relationships .
    • Identify and transition high-capacity donors into the principal gifts pipeline ($100K+) .
    • Lead donor meetings and solicitations and manage personalized engagement efforts.
    • Collaborate with the Development Operations Manager to analyze and leverage donor data in prospecting and segmentation strategies.

    Institutional Fundraising

    • Execute foundation and corporate fundraising strategy, ensuring a diversified institutional funding portfolio.
    • Build relationship management strategies with key funders, cultivating new funding opportunities.
    • Collaborate across departments to manage the grant proposal writing, reporting, ensuring timely and high-quality submissions.
    • Ensure timely stewardship of institutional donors, including the creation of impact reports and engagement opportunities.
    • Consult and collaborate with leadership on securing and managing multi-year grants and large-scale funding partnerships.

    Donor Engagement & Stewardship

    • Plan and execute donor engagement events and stewardship initiatives, ensuring meaningful interactions with supporters.
    • Develop impact-driven messaging and donor touchpoints to enhance engagement and retention.
    • Supervise the Development Manager, ensuring their role supports event logistics, donor communications, and stewardship initiatives; support their professional development and attend to all personnel related responsibilities.
    • Partner with the Development Operations Manager to align engagement strategies with donor segmentation and retention analytics.

    Collaboration & Strategy Development

    • Partner with leadership to execute a cohesive fundraising strategy.
    • Provide fundraising insights and updates for the Revenue Generating Committee and Board.
    • Work with the Development Operations Manager to analyze donor data and trends, ensuring data-informed fundraising decisions.
    • Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications team to ensure donor messaging aligns with the brand identity and mission of Power to Decide and its sub-brands, Bedsider and AbortionFinder.

    Qualifications

    The successful candidate will have/be:

    • Bachelor’s degree required, and at least 8-10 years of non-profit fundraising experience, with specific experience in corporate giving preferred.
    • Proven ability to cultivate and solicit major donors ($10K+) with a track record of increasing donor engagement and revenue.
    • Experience cultivating and maintaining relationships with corporate and foundation funders.
    • Strong leadership experience with staff management and mentorship abilities.
    • Excellent communication and writing skills, with the ability to craft compelling donor messaging and solicit gifts effectively.
    • Proficiency in CRM systems, donor databases, and fundraising analytics.
    • Experience working collaboratively with finance, operations, and marketing teams to align fundraising efforts.
    • The ability to work effectively from a remote home office and travel occasionally for donor engagement and events and team meetings.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with Google Workspace, Canva and work management tools, preferably Monday.com.

    Compensación

    The Director, Philanthropy is an exempt position. Salary is based on market factors and individual experience and abilities. The starting salary range for this position is $108,800 to $125,300 annually.

    Power to Decide has an excellent benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, 403b plan with 6% employer contribution after one-year, flexible spending accounts, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance, flexible work schedules, and generous leave which includes PTO, vacation accrual, summer hours a floating holiday and paid holidays.
