Salary Range: $140,000 - $151,000

For 50 years, Children’s Council has been the heart of childcare and early education in San Francisco, advancing the belief that high-quality childcare can transform lives and communities. Our more than 150 team members help families navigate their childcare and preschool options and secure financial assistance to pay for it. We provide home-based childcare businesses with the training and resources to succeed. Through a wide range of free programs and workshops, we support parents and caregivers as they build child development. As the city’s second-largest nonprofit contractor, with an annual budget of over $240 million, we are a major stakeholder in the child care system. POSITION SUMMARY:
Children’s Council is on a journey to move from transactional to transformational support and services for families and child care educators. In doing so, we need to address inequities within our system and throughout our city. The Senior Director of ECE Workforce Equity & Innovation oversees Children’s Council’s Equity and Innovation strategy for ECE Workforce in San Francisco and beyond. They lead a diverse and growing team who are committed to Children’s Council’s mission. The charge is to increase the number of and retention of BIPOC educators (including a specific commitment to Black educators) to increase the number and quality of BIPOC owned Child Care business, and foster a thriving, diverse workforce to improve learning outcomes for BIPOC children and the welfare of educators.
The Senior Director of ECE Workforce Equity & Innovation supports the Director of Black & BIPOC ECE Achievement, Senior Manager of Equity & Leadership and the Associate Director of Business Support. They provide leadership, program partnership & management to align and foster collaboration in support of the ECE field: to provide quality services to families and providers, increase partnerships to serve our communities and continue to assess and evaluate the impact our impact.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Hybrid Work
We have adopted a hybrid working model and currently require employees to be present in the office at least 3 days per week, with the option to work 2 days per week remotely. Applicants should be comfortable with both the remote and in office scenarios.
COVID Policies
All staff are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (barring application for medical or religious exemptions). Wearing masks in the office is optional for our staff.
