JOB TITLE: Senior Consultant – Leadership Programming & Coaching

    REPORTS TO: Leadership Lead Faculty

SALARY: 76K-89K (part time position – salary is 0.65 FTE of Senior Consultant salary band $117K-$137K + prorated benefits listed below)

LOCATION: Remote within United States, with preference for Western United States, with 6-7 weeks of travel annually. This role expects communication with staff and supervisor via phone, video conferencing, email, and internal communication systems, and adherence to TREC’s remote work policies and procedures. Travel is primarily for client meetings, trainings, and staff meetings and includes overnight stays.

    ABOUT TREC

TREC – Together Rising as an Environmental Community, is a capacity building organization devoted to serving our client partners with integrity, innovation, equity, and creative resourcing. We apply a whole-system approach in our capacity building, supporting leaders and organization’s innate wisdom, capacity, and passion, and disrupting the idea that leaders must look, live, or operate a certain way. We exist to serve our client partners in building a world where our relationships to each other, all beings, and our environment are healing, thriving, and well. TREC is a self-managing organization, which means we operate using innovative structures and processes that support leadership and agency across our whole team, as well as require strong skills in coordination, collaboration and communication.

CLASSIFICATION: Exempt, 65% Full Time Equivalent (FTE). While that averages to 26 hours per week, this role’s hours flex based on whether they are on site delivering a program.

This position requires multiple week-long travel engagements to leadership programs and includes a flex time policy. We will establish a schedule for regular engagement with full staff and our consultant team so that this position is connected without being overburdened by internal meetings.

TIMELINE: Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. Applications submitted before April 15th will be prioritized. This position will start in Q3 of 2025, with some flexibility.

    JOB OVERVIEW

TREC is seeking an experienced leadership program facilitator and coach with a passion for developing liberatory spaces and relationships with clients that celebrate diverse ways of being and leading. The ideal candidate is fluent in issues of identity, power, and equity, with prior experience working with and in the nonprofit sector.

TREC’s leadership programming is rooted in a vision that all people are welcome and treated justly, diverse wisdom is recognized as essential, and our relationships to each other, all beings, and our environment is healing and generative. We integrate conversations around identity, inclusion, and power throughout our work and are seeking a colleague who delights in the constant integration and evolution of this focus and commitment.

While often someone in this position would often be referred to as a trainer, we are less interested in prioritizing training, instead orienting toward a facilitative model of teaching that centers the people in the room, offering resources and teachings to support their unique needs and dreams. In other words, while tools and trainings are essential, they are an offering, not the focus. This is a highly collaborative position on a team steeped in the belief that we are not the experts but rather, partners to our clients.

This position will be supervised by TREC’s lead faculty and will deliver 5-6 weeks of in-person leadership programming per year, as well as provide training through webinars and online workshops, and offer ongoing coaching to our client partners. The position will deliver established programs while iterating our curriculum and designing new programs when the need arises.

    THIS POSITION WILL:

    • Facilitate our flagship, in-person leadership programs, including continuing to evolve our curriculum to make it as relevant and valuable as possible for each cohort based on their unique lived experiences and identities
    • Develop and facilitate additional leadership programming, both in-person and online
    • Develop and execute online resources including webinars, workshops, and tutorials/materials for our online resource library
    • Provide direct coaching support to our clients, as well as potentially help coordinate coaching support from multiple providers
    • Facilitate 360 assessments, debriefs, and action plans
    • Provide DEI-specific coaching offerings
    • Collaborate with the full TREC team to ensure the support we’re providing our clients is as impactful as possible.
    • Engage in professional development and personal learnings around leadership, DEI, or other relevant organizational development skills and topics

    QUALIFICATIONS:

To enjoy this position and achieve success, you will have:

    • Minimum of 10 combined years of experience as a leadership trainer, consultant and/or nonprofit leader (director level or equivalent) of organizations similar to those TREC serves, responsible for guiding, coordinating and implementing complex client offerings, trainings and programming
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in coaching and teaching/training
    • Coaching certification or graduate of certified coaching program
    • Experience teaching, training, or facilitating in a dynamic space that is oriented toward emergence, rather than a more didactic approach
    • Experience developing curriculum
    • Strong motivation, communication, and time-management skills
    • Experience and desire to unpack and explore the impact of identity in experience, systems, and roles in service to celebrating and supporting diverse ways of knowing, being and leading
    • Desire to receive, give, and implement feedback
    • Relentless curiosity around identity and power, and experience integrating a systems analysis into situations
    • An orientation toward growth and learning
    • Ability to convey information clearly in both oral and written communication
    • Demonstrated commitment and willingness to create equitable workplaces and implement inclusive practices and policies while working with a diverse colleague team and clients
    • Ability to succeed with remote supervision and to collaborate with a virtual self-managing team
    • Willingness and ability to travel around Western North America, including remote or sparsely populated places, to meet with clients and attend TREC staff and board meetings

    Ideal but not required:

    • Experience working with Indigenous and Native entities
    • Experience working in the environmental and/or conservation sector
    • Certification in The Leadership Circle assessment

We don't expect you to meet every single qualification. Please apply if this job feels aligned with your passions, whether or not it feels like your resume checks all the boxes. • Professional development and wellness funds
