This Attorney will provide essential legal support in various litigation, predominantly focused on tenants’ rights. The attorney will work on mass actions, class actions, and smaller lawsuits brought by tenants throughout California. The attorney may also participate in occasional eviction defense matters. While Movement Legal’s primary area of litigation is tenants’ rights, the attorney should be willing to learn, adapt, and litigate in other areas of the law.
The attorney should participate in all aspects of the litigation process, including investigation and case development, drafting pleadings, propounding and responding to discovery, motion practice, taking and defending depositions, attending mediations, and attending trials.
The attorney will work on a small team in Oakland, California, and collaborate with the Team’s assistant, managing attorney, and directing attorney.

Compensación
- Salary: $70,000–$78,000, depending on experience
- 100% employer-paid health, dental, and vision (dependents included)
- 8% employer 401(k) contribution
- $500 FSA contribution + dependent care FSA
- Two weeks of paid time off during the organization’s annual end-of-year closure
- Generous PTO, sick leave, and parental leave
- Workload permitting, no expectation to work more than 36-hours per week
