    DESCRIPTION

    In close partnership with the Annual Giving Manager, and other key advancement partners, the Advancement Manager will support the execution of Oakwood School's fundraising efforts. The Advancement Manager will also work closely with the Director of Advancement Data Management to maintain and support the donor and prospect database and associated systems and processes, including gift processing, on a routine basis. This position will be to provide administrative support for all Advancement programming, on a routine basis.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
    • Outstanding oral and written communication skills; ability to project a friendly, professional, and constituent-centered demeanor at all times.
    • 3-5 years of hands-on database experience required; knowledge of Raiser’s Edge a plus but not a must.
    • Highly organized and impeccably detail-oriented, with the ability to effectively manage deadlines and multiple tasks. Significant project-management experience a plus.
    • Working knowledge of Google’s G Suite and Microsoft Office products required including mail merge experience; working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud products a plus.
    • Familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn) a must; experience with HTML, CSS, or web publishing platforms a plus.
    • Experience with or interest in independent schools and philanthropy.
    • Track record of confidentiality and discretion.
    • Strong interpersonal and intrapersonal skills. Must be an active listener and open-minded collaborator. Ability to work as a member of a team as well as aptitude for self-directed independent work.
    • Must possess a growth mindset and a nimble and flexible attitude.
    • Availability for occasional evening and weekend work.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Coordinate, participate in, track and evaluate the donor and prospect engagement process from research, qualification phase to cultivation, solicitation and stewardship for the Annual Fund, Capital Campaign and Special Event fundraising campaigns;
    • Support volunteers in the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of gifts, monitor progress, provide feedback and campaign updates;
    • Create and distribute invitations, reminders, attendee bios and name tags, schedules, and manage RSVPs for cultivation and stewardship events;
    • Coordinate direct mail and virtual appeals by assisting with creation, editing, printing, data collation, assembly and in-house/mailhouse distribution;
    • Assist in the production of print and digital school communications, including donor impact reports, website and social media content;
    • Maintain the school’s donor database with accuracy and integrity, including but not limited to processing and acknowledging gifts in a timely manner, maintaining accurate constituent contact information, entering prospect and moves-management notes, updating and distributing reports from the database and overseeing pledge reminders and collection and Double the Donation matching gift processes;
    • Collaborate with the Business Office to reconcile pledges and gifts monthly;
    • Track donor analytics including participation by constituency in order to strengthen participation and return on ask and generates and analyzes reports from Raiser’s Edge;
    • Provide wide-ranging, multifaceted administrative support, including assistance with meeting scheduling and preparation and other office-management and project-management tasks;
    • May be required to perform additional duties as assigned.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    While performing the essential functions of this job, the incumbent must be able to do the following: stand for extended periods; sit for extended periods; bend and reach for filing and other job-related functions; climb up and down stairs; bend, stoop, and lift to move and retrieve materials; pull, push, and lift; reach both above and below shoulder height. Specific visual abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to visually inspect work. Manual dexterity to operate computer and other office equipment required.
