    About ArtBridge

ArtBridge is a nonprofit that empowers local artists to transform public spaces, with a focus on art that derives from community engagement. We create large-scale public art exhibitions throughout New York City; 75% of our exhibitions are on the city’s 300+ miles of construction fencing. Our largest program, Bridging the Divide, takes place in public housing (NYCHA) developments in NYC.

Founded in 2008, we have experienced recent growth resulting from the 2023 implementation of a new law, through NYC’s City Council, that codifies our programming on construction sites.

We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Program and Operations Assistant to support the day-to-day operations and programmatic activities of our growing nonprofit.

    Position Overview

The Program and Operations Assistant is an entry-level, full-time position reporting to the Program Director and Executive Director. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual who is passionate about public art and community engagement, and who wants to learn more about nonprofit operations.

The position offers a blend of programmatic and administrative duties and will play a key role in supporting ArtBridge’s public art projects and internal operations.

This is a full-time, hybrid role, with a minimum of two days per week at our Chelsea office in Manhattan.

Start date ASAP, though ideally no later than mid-July.

    Key Responsibilities

    Program Support (50%)

    • Assist with the coordination of public art installations, community engagement events, and workshops. This will often include onsite activities, at our project locations throughout the five boroughs.
    • Support project timelines, deliverables, and artist communications.
    • Help manage relationships with community partners, artists, fabricators, and vendors.
    • Conduct research on artists, community stakeholders, and neighborhood histories for upcoming projects.
    • Assist with documentation of projects, including photography coordination and gathering impact data.
    • Prepare materials for programming and presentations.

    Operations Support (50%)

    • Assist with day-to-day office management and administrative tasks.
    • Support finance processes, including processing invoices and expense tracking, coordinating with ArtBridge’s bookkeepers.
    • Maintain and update ArtBridge’s internal project management systems.
    • Support board meeting preparation, including compiling reports and slide shows.
    • Assist with grant reporting and donor communications by gathering data and helping to draft reports.
    • Provide general support to the Executive Director and other team members as needed.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
    • 0-3 years of relevant experience in nonprofit administration, public art, project management, or a related field. If a recent graduate (e.g., May 2025), your studies and/or internships should overlap with ArtBridge’s scope.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects.
    • A proactive, solutions-oriented approach and a collaborative attitude.
    • Passion for public art, community engagement, and social impact.
    • Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, etc.).
    • Experience with Adobe CS applications is a plus.
    • Familiarity with NYC’s geography, its arts and cultural landscape, and/or experience working with underrecognized communities is a plus.

    Work Environment & Benefits

    • Entry-level, full-time role with room for growth.
    • Hybrid schedule: Most weeks will be 2 days in ArtBridge’s office (Chelsea, NYC) and 3 days remote. Flexible work schedule on remote days.
    • Occasional evening and weekend work to support community events and art installations (offset by corresponding time off – weekly work will never exceed 40 hours).
    • Salary range: $50,000 – $54,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
    • Health benefits package.
    • Generous PTO plan, including vacation, sick days, and holidays.
    • Professional development opportunities.
    • A collaborative, mission-driven team located in the heart of NYC’s arts community.
