This is a part-time, remote, contract/freelance position offering flexible hours and potential for growth within the organization. **This is a 3-month contract position with the potential for extension. Our goal is to find someone who is a great fit and, ideally, transition them into a part-time role.

    About the Role

The Development & Fundraising Specialist will play a pivotal role in expanding Global Strays’ donor base, securing major gifts, and increasing annual revenue. This person will work closely with the President and others to implement innovative fundraising strategies, identify new funding sources, and strengthen donor engagement.

We’re looking for a natural connector and relationship-builder—someone who thrives on engaging with donors, brainstorming creative revenue initiatives, and creating sustainable fundraising models for Global Strays.

    Key Responsibilities

    Fundraising Strategy & Revenue Growth

    • Develop and execute a strategic fundraising plan with measurable objectives to increase annual revenue
    • Identify and pursue new funding opportunities from foundations, corporations, and high-net-worth individuals
    • Create and implement strategies to secure new funding streams and diversify revenue sources
    • Design targeted initiatives to convert one-time donors into recurring supporters
    • Assist in the development of compelling donor presentations, reports, and solicitation materials

    Donor Cultivation & Relationship Management

    • Proactively prospect, initiate, and nurture donor relationships
    • Work closely with the President to maintain strong engagement with existing donors
    • Oversee online giving campaigns and annual appeals
    • Collaborate with the Communications & Marketing Specialist to create impactful donor outreach materials
    • Plan and implement virtual (and potential in-person) donor cultivation events
    • Support Board members in their fundraising efforts

    Data & CRM Management

    • Maintain and manage the donor database (CRM), ensuring records are accurate and up to date
    • Track fundraising progress and success metrics, providing regular reports to the team

    Qualifications

    • 2+ years experience in nonprofit fundraising or development
    • Proven success in securing major gifts and increasing annual revenue
    • Experience developing and executing strategic fundraising plans
    • Proficiency in CRM database management
    • Exceptional communication and donor relationship-building skills
    • Comfortable working in a highly collaborative, small-team environment
    • Proactive, results-driven, and able to work independently
    • Passionate about animal welfare and nonprofit work
    • Dedicated to staying current with professional knowledge and industry best practices
