Work to save our oldest trees. We are hiring for citizen outreach and field manager positions working on issues like stopping plastic pollution, advocating for renewable energy, and conserving our most special places.

In our Philadelphia office, we’re working to save our oldest trees. Old growth forests are complex ecosystems that provide unique habitats for birds up above, critters down below and everyone in between. They are also critical allies in the fight against climate change- one that we lose the moment we cut them down. Currently, more than 50 million acres of mature and old-growth forests on federal lands in the United States are unprotected from logging and the Forest Service is planning to log older trees in forests across the country. So we’re calling on the Biden Administration to enact strong and durable policies that protect all mature and old-growth trees and forests from logging and completely end the sale of old-growth to timber mills. With enough public support, we can persuade the current administration that it’s in their best interest to enact the strongest protections possible.

    • Educate and engage citizens on a campaign to make real change on pressing environmental and public interest issues

    • Earn leadership opportunities, supervising and managing staff in the field
    • Gain the experience and connections needed to launch your career in nonprofit and policy work

At Fund for the Public Interest, we are seeking hard-working individuals with good communication skills and a passion for social change to fill citizen outreach and field manager positions. We are hiring full-time and part-time staff and have leadership opportunities available.
