    Position Description

    The Enrollment Support Services Associate is a 12-month position that helps Churchill to carry out its Mission and works directly with Churchill families, assisting with the funding process, whether through settlement and/or due process hearings. The Enrollment Support Services Associate serves as a resource on educational law for Churchill as it applies to enrollment management processes, such as financial aid, tuition management, and retention strategies. The Enrollment Support Services Associate will report directly to the Director of Enrollment Support Services. The first date of employment will be July 1, 2025.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Community Engagement

    • Liaise between families (incoming and currently enrolled) and Churchill School, attorneys, CSE, and other necessary representatives during IEP/CSE and due process proceedings.
    • Coordinate with attorneys to schedule and/or prepare Churchill faculty for impartial hearing testimonies.
    • Participate in Churchill admissions events for prospective families and/or education professionals.
    • Support the development of community outreach programming relating to the IEP/CSE and funding processes.
    • Develop and maintain a strong network of educational attorneys.
    • Educate current, incoming, and prospective families and/or the greater community about the funding and/or CSE/IEP processes as they relate to enrollment at Churchill.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Student Information Management

    • Support Churchill educators and administrators and/or prepare the necessary documentation to advocate for students during IEP/CSE and due process proceedings, including but not limited to drafting progress reports or writing affidavits.
    • Administer the MySchools platform if students apply to public schools.
    • Maintain records of individual student/family IEP/CSE and due process proceedings.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Legal Interface

    • Train and support instructional faculty as needed to facilitate IEP/CSE and due process proceedings.
    • Coordinate with the Business Office to proactively track tuition receivables and communicate with students’ families, attorneys, and the DOE as needed.
    • Participate in IEP meetings or testify in Impartial Hearings when necessary and appropriate.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • A Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, Paralegal Studies, or a related field
    • A Master’s Degree in Education, Special Education, or Paralegal Studies (preferred)
    • A background in educational law and/or special education administration is preferred
    • 3+ years of experience helping families navigate IEP meetings and due process proceedings with the NYC DOE
    • Possesses a deep understanding of IDEA, due process proceedings, IEPs, and the intricacies of NYC DOE functioning

    Compensation

    • $80K-$90K commensurate with experience
    • 12 Month Employee Benefits Package: 10 days annual personal/sick time, 15 vacation days, summer Fridays and school holidays off. Remote working days (maximum 30 days per year) subject to approval.
