    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Senior Manager, Construction Initiatives, will be responsible for developing and leading training for Chapters and partner organizations in suicide prevention and loss support programs to save lives and bring hope to those impacted by suicide. Critical to this role is working with the construction industry, including trade unions, other external organizations and subject matter experts to identify training opportunities and deliver new, high-quality training programs that can be scaled to reach program goals.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Develops and manages the Train the Trainer and Training for Presenter Construction Programs.
    • Builds and maintains partnerships within the AFSP structure to identify potential trainers to reach the construction industry.
    • Serves as the point of contact for the Construction Training Corp and coordinates trainings, within the training budget.
    • Works with the team to support partnerships with external organizations that focus on reaching construction professionals, developing goals and strategies for program partnership, development, and implementation.
    • Develops and leads a training strategy to prepare Chapters in effective outreach and program delivery to the construction industry.
    • In collaboration with the team, participates in the development of effective, clear, and easy to understand messages, ensure that messaging is research-based and evidence- informed and applicable to the construction industry.
    • Partners with the Impact Measurement team to develop evaluation criteria to evaluate programs and other initiatives and seek opportunities to respond to findings.
    • Provides ongoing content review and updates, including collaborating with communications on developing promotional materials for a variety of media outlets, following AFSP requirements and guidelines.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

    Experience and/or Training 5+ years relevant professional experience (e.g., program management, program planning and development, training, association, community-based work). Experience working in the construction industry.

    Licenses/Certificates n/a

    Technology/Equipment Expert level of proficiency with MS Project, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and SharePoint with experience presenting to partners and / or Senior Leadership.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education Graduate degree in program planning, public health, social work, or a related field.

    Experience and/or Training 6+ years’ relevant professional experience in program development and implementation, with excellent program and customer management experience.
