We operate two key programs: the School-Based Program and the Community-Based Program.
School-Based Program: In our School-Based Program, mentors meet with their Littles during school hours to provide academic support, social engagement, and personal development. This program focuses on improving school performance, attendance, and overall well-being, fostering a supportive environment within the school setting.
Community-Based Program: The Community-Based Program offers flexibility and variety, with Bigs and Littles meeting outside of school hours for activities that can include anything from going to the park, working on homework, to simply spending quality time together. This program is designed to build self-esteem, enhance interpersonal skills, and encourage positive life choices through shared experiences.
We're currently hiring for several key positions that will support and grow our programs:
As a Program Coordinator, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our mentoring programs. Your role includes coordinating activities, managing relationships with schools and community partners, and ensuring that the program's goals are met. You'll work closely with mentors, mentees, and families to provide guidance and support, ensuring a successful and impactful experience for all involved.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Enrollment and Match Support Specialist
In the role of Enrollment and Match Support Specialist, you'll be the key contact for our Bigs and Littles. This position involves recruiting, interviewing, and enrolling volunteers and youth into our programs. Additionally, you will provide ongoing support to ensure successful and enduring matches between Bigs and Littles. Your ability to build and maintain strong relationships will be critical to the success of our mentoring matches.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Academic/Educational Requirements:
High School Diploma and 4 years of relevant experience or Associates Degree and 2 years relevant experience or Bachelors Degree
Preferred Skills and Professional Requirements Based on Position:
Experience with recruitment, public speaking, assessment, intake and interview experience is required. Experience in human services, with youth service organizations and socioeconomically diverse populations is preferred. Must possess the ability to effectively utilize BBBSI’s internal database systems for tracking and recording information.· Strong group facilitation and public speaking skills, specifically working with youth
Work Environment: This position will be based out of the agency office or an assigned school in the Philadelphia School District. Attendance at the BBBSI headquarters will be required when school is not in session and as needed. Regular hours will be Monday through Friday, aligning with the school hours.
Ability to commute to school site and BBBSI offices 5 days a week is required.
