    The Builders of Color Coalition is seeking a highly organized, driven, personable individual to oversee and organize our educational programs – helping emerging real estate developers and professionals from underrepresented backgrounds to access the skills and networks needed to advance in the field. Previous real estate related experience is not required.

    Hours: Full-time

    Location: Boston (mostly in person, some remote)

    Start Date: late March or early April 2025

    Compensation: $75-85K annually depending on experience, plus vacation benefits

    Responsibilities:

    • Organize and host our award-winning fellowships: 3-6 month programs designed to help existing small-scale developers increase their capacity for (1) market-rate development, (2) affordable housing development, and (3) investment analysis; track multi-year program impact
    • Organize and host our single-day forums on topics critical to advancement in the field, such as our Financing Forum, Land Access Forum, Community Real Estate Forum, and signature Student Summit
    • Organize and host real estate development project and city tours, in conjunction with partner organizations and municipalities
    • Provide ongoing support of co-created educational programs led by external partners, such as the NAIOP Mentorship Program and ULI Pathways Program
    • Maintain and add to our publicly accessible library of educational resources
    • Assist with and pursue related fundraising efforts as needed
    • Note: All responsibilities are also supported by our executive director, program administrator, and board

    Requirements:

    • Strong background in event organizing and management; ability to recruit participants, handle logistics including budgets, ensure meaningful outcomes
    • Background in program and/or educational management; awareness of pedagogical methods
    • Solid organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to conduct manual tasks for in-person events, including equipment setup/breakdown/transport, with assistance of administrative and event management staff
    • Preferences: Experience in economic development, workforce development, and/or entrepreneurship support; Understanding of and ability to engage with diverse backgrounds
    • Key Characteristics: driven, organized, self-directed, eager to learn, personable, flexible

    About the Builders of Color Coalition:

    The Builders of Color Coalition (buildersofcolor.com) works to increase access and diversity in Greater Boston’s commercial real estate sector, to create generational impact in expanding economic opportunity. The organization was founded in 2017 and has grown to a base of more than 650 diverse real estate professionals and strong connections across the industry. We are now embarking on our 2025-2028 Strategic Plan, which charts out an increase from 3 staff members to 6, and the launch/expansion of several branches of programming including some with national reach.
