    Position Summary:

    The Girls on the Run of the Bay Area (GOTRBA) Program Manager is responsible for ensuring high-quality implementation of the GOTR programs. This position will recruit and build relationships with volunteers, school principals/staff, and school districts to grow reach and impact. This position involves 40 hours per week and higher fluctuations during the program: spring (February – May) and Fall (August – November). One day a week is expected in the SF based office. The candidate must reside in one of the Bay Area counties (Contra Costa, Alameda, SF, Marin, San Mateo County).

    Program Management & Operations:

    • Collaborate with the Program Director to support program growth and continuous improvement including efforts to expand access, strengthen delivery and enhance visibility in the community.
      • Collaborate with the Program Director to develop and implement plans for new site recruitment, especially in underserved areas of our territory, and orientation as well as a retention strategy for returning sites.
      • Work with the Program Director on managing facility use, site insurance, and site visits.
      • Analyze and assess optimal timeline to implement processes for coach and participant recruitment
    • Develop initiatives to recruit participants and volunteers whose diversity mirrors the communities we serve.
      • Coordinate seasonal coach recruitment and placement across all sites.
      • Develop, run and test advertising campaigns during recruitment periods
      • Lead in the planning, recruitment and on-boarding of volunteer coaches and coach training events, from application, background check, training, and certification to training.
    • Forge partnerships with school administrators & staff, and program partners.
      • Collaborate with program leadership to maintain strong site partnerships and resolve challenges.
      • Conduct visits to program sites to observe, offer feedback, and support coaches.
      • Lead all coach appreciation and retention initiatives, identify ways to strengthen volunteer appreciation and develop recommendations to increase retention year over year.
    • Support 5K event planning, logistics and execution: pre-race communication and lead day-of logistics.
    • Improve processes in the realm of budget/registration/communication. Develop and track program budget with the Program Director.
      • Monitor collection of registration fees.
      • Identify and build processes to reduce hands-on communications and projects in order to grow.
      • Manage inventory and ordering of program and 5K supplies across multiple seasons—including tracking current inventory, identifying needs, and coordinating packing, distribution, and restocking cycles.
      • Work with the Program Director to optimize the process for program inventory and curriculum.

    General Responsibilities:

    • Represent Girls on the Run at seasonal events (including occasional evenings/weekends) to support the team on special projects, programs & recruitment, fundraising and networking events.
    • Provide program reports for the ED & Program Director for board meetings.
    • Manage and track the program goals using Pinwheel, Excel, & Salesforce.

    Qualities and Qualifications:

    • Passion for Girls on the Run mission and the ability to effectively communicate issues surrounding empowerment, self-esteem, body image and whole-person health.
    • Bachelor’s degree plus at least 3-5 years program management work experience.
    • Experience with GOTR or other similar youth programs preferred. Experience working in partnership with schools a plus.
    • Proficient at managing budgets.
    • Can-do attitude, with the ability to maintain high-quality work while managing multiple projects. Just as comfortable answering volunteer questions as you are managing spreadsheets—or organizing event gear behind the scenes.
    • Willingness to work a flexible schedule with some evening and weekend work.
    • Outstanding communication skills with a range of audiences, including district administrators, school principals, parents, volunteers.
    • Demonstrated strong project management skills and experience.
    • Proficient in Microsoft & Google suite and adept at learning new systems. Strong comfort with spreadsheets, shared documents, and digital tools to track progress and manage details.
    • Access to reliable transportation for site visits and events.
    • Fluency in Spanish preferred but not required. Experience working in culturally diverse communities and/or multilingual settings.

    Compensación

    This is a salaried, exempt, full-time position offering a compensation range of $70,00 -$75,000 annually depending on experience. Girls on the Run of the Bay Area offers a generous PTO plan, health & dental benefits for full-time employees, and a 401k plan with employer match.
