Major gifts officer

Job description:

Work with Climate Defiance to prospect new major donors (givers of $1,000+) and liaise with existing ones in order to fund our peaceful uprising.

About us:

We are a youth-led group that launched in Spring 2023. We humiliate climate criminals to strip them of their power, shake society awake, and end the era of fossil fuels. We take away the social license of the fossil fuel industry. We move the Overton Window, the accepted terms of debate. We have blockaded the White House Correspondents Dinner, stopped play at the Congressional Baseball Game, and made life miserable for too many CEOs, Senators and Cabinet Secretaries to count.

Location:

Ideal location is San Francisco, Los Angeles, Boston, NYC, DC, Chicago, or Houston, but we are open to making a hire anywhere in the US.

About You:

You are a self-motivated, self-starter. You can thrive without hand-holding. You take initiative. You are a radical and a realist all at once. You overcome hurdles. You do not make excuses. You are persistent and hard-working. You leave no stone unturned. You are kind and collaborative.

Qualifications:

• 1-4 years experience liaising with large donors (donors giving $1,000 and above)
• Experience identifying new major donors
• Experience moving potential new major donors up a ladder of engagement
• Demonstrated commitment to climate change and/or the progressive movement
• [optional] experience with fundraising via in-person events or other methods.

Pay & Benefits

Salary: $62,400 for full-time, $31,200 for half-time (Note: Our organization adheres to a flat pay scale, ensuring equal compensation for all members. Stated otherwise, everyone has the same salary.)

Vacation: Full-time employees are eligible for 20 days of paid vacation each year.

Holiday Leave: Climate Defiance observes 8 paid holidays throughout the course of the year. Additionally, our operations are closed between Christmas Eve and New Years Day each year and the day following Thanksgiving.

Additional Leave: Each full-time employee is eligible for 5 sick days and 2 personal days.
