    Development Coordinator

    Job Summary

    The Children’s Museum in Easton (CME) seeks a talented Development Coordinator to join our thriving non-profit team. The Development Coordinator will work with the Executive Director to develop and execute fundraising initiatives and programs to help achieve CME’s overall mission and goals. This position involves researching, prospecting, cultivating and managing donor relationships, and coordinating fundraising activities and events. The Development Coordinator will ensure that the CME’s development efforts are successful and that donor support is maximized. The ideal candidate will have a passion for nonprofit management and a strong development/fundraising skill set. This hourly position may be part-time or full-time, and work-from-home options are possible for the right candidate.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Works with the Executive Director to:

      • Develop and implement fundraising plans to meet annual and long-term fundraising goals
      • Research prospective donors, including individuals, foundations, and corporations
      • Cultivate and steward relationships with existing and potential donors
      • Prepare, submit, and follow up on proposals to solicit donations
      • Manage and track donor records, contact information, and history in the donor database
      • Organize and maintain development materials, such as brochures and presentations
      • Participate in donor meetings, presentations, and events
      • Develop and implement recognition and stewardship strategies
      • Serve as liaison to the Board of Directors Development Committee
      • On government and foundation grant management by writing proposal narratives, submitting grant applications, and tracking awards
      • Prepare fundraising reports, budgets, and other documents
      • Assist with the coordination and execution of community and fundraising events
      • Attend CME meetings and events as requested
      • Stay informed of fundraising trends, techniques, and technology
      • Represent the organization enthusiastically and professionally in the community and demonstrate commitment to CME’s mission and core values
      • Support communication and marketing efforts as requested
      • Perform additional duties from time to time as requested by Executive Director

    Requirements and Qualifications

      • Bachelor’s degree in fundraising, marketing, communications, or a related field
      • 3-5 years of experience in fundraising and development
      • Demonstrated success in managing and meeting fundraising goals
      • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively and with sensitivity
      • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities
      • Openness to feedback
      • Self-motivated, dependable, and reliable
      • Able to work independently with a high degree of personal initiative as well as collaboratively in a team environment
      • Flexibility with time and schedule to include occasional nights and weekends
      • Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation. Willingness to travel occasionally within a 20-mile radius of Easton, MA
      • Proficient with email, Google Workspace/G-Suite, and donor management software. Experience with Neon and DonorSearch is a plus.

    Job Details

    Type: This position may be full-time or part-time

    Hourly Pay Range: Commensurate with experience ($25-$35 per hour)

    Reports to: CME Executive Director

    Travel: Local travel around the Easton, MA area required. Reliable transportation required
