Southern Documentary Fund (SDF) champions Southern documentary makers and stories. Inspired by our belief in the power of media to educate and change lives, we provide documentarians with diverse resources, including grants, fiscal sponsorship, community dialogue, professional education and mentorship–all to promote Southern stories and lower barriers for documentary makers and underrepresented voices.
About the Role:
As the Marketing and Communications Manager, you will contribute by driving brand awareness as well as develop, oversee, and deliver all aspects of strategic marketing and communications for Southern Documentary Fund (SDF). Working across platforms, including SDF’s website, social media accounts, email, and various print and digital materials, you will promote the work of SDF and its sponsored makers to targeted audiences, including artists, industry experts, donors, and the general public. You will focus on growing audiences, increasing awareness, and helping generate revenue. Working alongside a small and dedicated staff that oversee SDF’s programs and operations, the Marketing and Communications Manager is the primary interface with external parties on communication matters, including general inquiries, events, promotional partnerships, project pages, and public relations. This position reports to the Executive Director. This is a fully Remote role, with occasional travel to Durham, North Carolina (HQ).
