    Summary: Liaison between the NHBA, NHBA members and the NHBF Directors.

    The Associate Executive Director is the public face of the Foundation, representing the Foundation to internal and external audiences, conveying the mission of the Foundation, and motivating stakeholders to work for and with the Foundation to achieve its strategic goals. The Associate Executive Director should have a personal commitment to access to justice.

    Strong customer service orientation and quick response to member, non-member, grantor, grantee and director requests. Management of IOLTA funds, funds held with NH Charitable Foundation and other donated and/or awarded funds. Responsible for record-keeping, administering fundraising drives, administration of events, grant processing, writing or requesting articles for publication in NH Bar News and/or other publications and overall administrative support of the organization. The position is under the general supervision of the NHBA Executive Director, who is also the NHBF Executive Director, but the Associate Executive Director is expected to be a decision-maker and in charge of the operations of the NHBF on a day-to-day basis. Strategies or questionable issues will be discussed with the Executive Director.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    1. Establish relationships with NH Bar Association members to build long-term donor relationships, legacy giving and volunteerism;
    2. Engage bank representatives to promote the IOLTA (Interest on Lawyers’ Trust Accounts) program and develop positive relationships with existing member banks/credit unions and pursue new banks/credit unions to provide maximum interest return;
    3. Work to assure the fiscal integrity of the Foundation and its funds. Manage grant application and monitoring processes and oversee the completion and submission of forms, reports and contracts;
    4. Administer the Fellows Program and identify and pursue activities that further engage and attract a deep pool of accomplished Fellows;
    5. Draft proposed grants for NHBF and/or other charitable organizations’ civics programs;
    6. Attends NHBA events as an exhibitor to promote NHBF programs;
    7. Direct and design fundraising campaigns for legal services for the poor, civics programs, justice grants and other drives as determined by the Board of Directors;
    8. Coordinates with the NHBA Marketing and Communications Department to design advertisements, posters, flyers, brochures, and other media;
    9. Works with NH Bar News Editor to produce monthly articles and quarterly e-bulletins; writes articles for publication, promoting and informing readers of NH Bar Foundation happenings and offerings;
    10. Coordinates the details of NH Bar Foundation events, whether virtual or in person;
    11. Process and administer the LRAP program for public service law school debt loans;
    12. Prepares, in collaboration with the NHBA Deputy Executive Director, the NHBF fiscal budget;

    Administratively supports the NHBF Board of Directors and Committees to include but not limited to scheduling meetings, preparing documentation and reports as requested and developing agendas;

    1. Maintains accurate files and history on all things related to the NH Bar Foundation;
    2. Administers endowed funds held with NH Charitable Foundation;
    3. Maintains accurate pledge and donor records;
    4. Maintains and records accurate IOLTA records in coordination with the NHBA Business Operations department;

    Performs other related duties as assigned.

    • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A./B.S.) or four to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience;
    • Experience in project management in law, nonprofits, government, policy or advocacy through a minimum of eight years of management experience;
    • A demonstrated commitment to equal access to justice; a genuine enjoyment of the law and lawyers; and a profound respect for and belief in the system of law;
    • A proven ability and competence in building strong professional relationships; natural interpersonal skills and the ability to connect diverse audiences to the Foundation’s mission and activities; and a collaborative, consensus building style;
    • Demonstrated budget development experience and the proven ability to interpret, forecast and manage financial statements;
    • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and the understanding of broad communications and engagement tools, including social media;
    • A strategic, comprehensive and critical thinking approach to planning, problem solving, and decision-making; the proven capacity to manage time and plan effectively while balancing multiple tasks, demands and changing circumstances simultaneously;
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, accounting software, and database software;
    • Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable automobile.

    Education/Experience:

    Bachelor’s Degree (B.A./B.S.) or four to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Compensación

    The NHBA offers medical insurance with a partial offset to the employee deductible via an HRA, dental insurance, short and long term disability insurance, life insurance and a variety of optional insurances such as accident, cancer, vision and voluntary life.

    Following the first anniversary date, the NHBA contributes 7% of salary for all eligible employees to a profit-sharing plan which vests in the employee's name after 6 years.

    Vacation and sick days which increase after 3 years of continuous service. Thirteen scheduled holidays per year.

    Excellent employee assistance program through KGA, free use of the gym located in the building, free parking, complimentary coffee.
