    Classification: Full Time Associates (Exempt)

    Supervisory Function: None

    Job Description: The Foundation for the Mid South is seeking a Program Associate to work with the Foundation’s team on the Truth, Racial Healing, and Transformation (TRHT) efforts. The Program Associate will work in partnership with the Director of Administration and Program Evaluator on specific/discrete projects that align with The Foundation's mission and values.

    Responsibilities:

    • Assist in the design, development, and implementation of social justice initiatives
    • Conduct research and analysis on social justice issues and policies
    • Facilitate/Assist in conducting community analysis, resource mapping, community assessments, and community engagement strategies.
    • Facilitate TRHT meetings (focus groups, community meetings, and affinity groups) via social media and in person. Assist in the planning and execution of events and workshops
    • Support outreach efforts to community organizations and individuals
    • Develop and maintain relationships with partner organizations and stakeholders

    Qualifications:

    • Must have a minimum of 1-2 years of work experience, associate’s or bachelor’s preferred degree, and familiarity with the field of philanthropy, nonprofit sector, and community development work.
    • Experience working with culturally and ethnically diverse communities.
    • Ability to communicate internally within The Foundation team and externally to diverse audiences with knowledge, diplomacy, tact, patience, flexibility, and courtesy.
    • Demonstrated ability to be well-organized, a self-starter who can work independently and within a team to track projects and meet deadlines.
    • Highest level of interpersonal skills, including excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
    • Uphold the highest ethical standards of integrity, fairness, and confidentiality in all relationships as an employee.
