    Position Summary:

    The Senior Learning & Impact Specialist is a critical role in our organization, responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating training and consulting services for external clients. This role is part of an exciting new program launch, the culmination of nearly a year of research and planning, and is integral to ensuring the success and growth of our services.

    Using a lens rooted in our organizational mission and vision, Equity & Justice, intersectionality, and trauma-informed practices, you will create and refine training programs that address clients' unique needs, emphasizing culturally relevant approaches. Beyond training delivery, you'll lead intake processes, develop customized learning materials, and build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure their goals are met.

    In this role, you will also play a key part in helping us achieve our revenue targets, bringing an understanding of the importance of marketing and client recruitment to sustain and expand our work. This position combines facilitation, curriculum design, client engagement, and outreach to advance our mission of equity and inclusion while contributing to the program's financial success.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Training & Facilitation (40%)

    • Deliver in-person and virtual training sessions tailored to the needs of diverse clients
    • Facilitate engaging, interactive learning experiences that address complex concepts related to equity, inclusion, belonging, social and environmental justice with clarity and care
    • Provide and receive constructive feedback to/from clients, fostering open and collaborative communication

    Curriculum Design (20%)

    • Oversee the design, update, and refinement of training materials to ensure they are culturally relevant, accessible, and impactful
    • Research and integrate new concepts and strategies to keep content current and effective
    • Curate and maintain a library of resources and materials for the topics we present and are developing curriculum for

    Client Engagement (20%)

    • Serve as the subject-matter expert in client engagements, advising on tailored strategies
    • Manage client intake, including initial outreach, intake calls, and proposal development
    • Match clients with appropriate services and trainers and maintain regular check-ins to ensure satisfaction
    • Partner with clients to assess needs and develop customized solutions aligned with their goals

    Evaluation & Reporting (10%)

    • Establish success metrics and evaluate training programs against department and organizational goals
    • Collaborate with the team to evaluate training programs and write detailed reports
    • Review client feedback and program outcomes to inform ongoing improvements

    Marketing & Recruitment (10%)

    • Attend conferences and events to represent the organization through presenting and representation, build professional relationships and recruit new clients
    • Support marketing efforts to expand the client base and promote services

    Qualifications:

    • A master’s degree in a relevant field and 3+ years of experience in facilitation, teaching, or training
    • Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with individuals and groups of diverse ages, races, and backgrounds
    • Strong English oral and written communication skills
    • Comfort in presenting both online and in-person
    • Understanding of presentation techniques via Zoom and Google Meet
    • Willingness to develop or already possess understanding of the outdoor and environmental sector and its intersection with Justice, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging
    • Openness to learning, or possessing a foundational understanding of trauma-informed care
    • Strong skills in giving and receiving constructive feedback
    • Familiarity with Canva and/or PowerPoint for creating training materials
    • Familiarity with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.)
    • Familiarity with Survey Monkey and/or Google Forms
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with attention to detail
    • A commitment to advancing racial justice and equity in all aspects of your work
    • Ability to effectively communicate the values, expectation, mission and vision of Justice Outside

    Work Location/Environment

    • This is a full-time, salaried position that can be located anywhere in the continental United States of America. Occasional evenings and weekends may be required. Our in-person office is based in Oakland, CA.
    • Justice Outside is a remote workspace, However there are some employees currently working in a hybrid work environment that supports both remote and in-person. When working remotely, employees must maintain phone and internet services to be able to complete work as required.
    • Please note: This position must be flexible with availability for meetings on an as needed basis during our core business hours or 9am - 2pm (PT)/12 Noon - 5pm (ET)/11am - 4PM (CT)/10am - 3pm (MT).
    • Can expect up to 20% travel
