    Descripción

    The Manager of Security and Safety is a primary member of the Security management team. The manager is responsible for managing security systems for the museum to support the Director of Security and Manager of Security. This includes, but is not limited to, the Fire and life-safety systems, CCTV, Alarm-based systems for the protection of artwork, and building access control for the 99 Gansevoort and Bulwark locations.

    Responsibilities:

    • Assisting with the oversight of the security officers’ team.
    • Developing schedule rosters, duty rotations, replacing call-outs, and administrative systems for staffing using HRIS and/or other applicable tools.
    • Acting as Fire Safety Director for the Museum and may be involved in building testing and inspections conducted by the Fire Department.
    • Work with other applicable managers and staff to ensure best practice and compliance relating to Health and Safety and Fire Safety legislation and maintaining all security records and logs.
    • Be the primary lead on the Museum Emergency Notification System will be responsible to ensure compliance & training.
    • Act as a contact for Health and Safety, and Fire safety inquiries.
    • Under the umbrella of Facilities division (facilities, security engineering and theater), the manager of safety and security will perform duties as designated or requested by the Chief Facilities Officer and approved by the Director of Security as needed.
    • Work with facilities managers to ensure public safety systems, processes and procedures are properly tested, maintained and followed.
    • As a facilities designee, the manager of security and safety will from time to time ensure that proper engineering functions are carried out as they relate to building, staff and visitor security and safety.
    • Manage the contract for agency security provision to ensure that the service provided is in line with the standards and requirements set out in the service level agreement
    • Collaborate with other museum staff to ensure artwork protection.
    • Work as Security Manager to cover management duties for special events.

    Requirements:

    • B.A. degree required. (Criminal Justice or similar preferred)
    • 3-5 years of security supervisory, law enforcement, and fire safety experience
    • NYS Training; Security and Fire Safety Director License; excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with all staff at a premier NYC cultural institution.
    • 5+ years of supervisory experience in the Security field
