    Official Title: Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) Specialist

    Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

    We are hiring for three full-time positions. Two full-time IPV Specialists and one full-time Bilingual (English/Spanish) IPV Specialist.

    IPV Specialists work in hospitals in a domestic violence prevention and response program. They are responsible for providing advocacy and individual and group counseling services. They also provide training, technical support, and program development within their hospital site. This position is on the Medical Advocacy team as a part of our Bilingual Domestic Violence Program.

    This is an in-person position at the hospital from Mondays - Thursdays. On Fridays, the team works at our agency headquarters. All hospitals and agency sites are within Philadelphia city limits. A remote-work option is available after completion of the first 90-days.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Receive referrals from the healthcare setting and provide telephone counseling, advocacy, and resources.
    • Maintain a caseload of 1-3 clients, providing 10 sessions each. Sessions include empowerment counseling, case management, advocacy, accompaniment, and referral services.
    • Conducts outreach activities such as tabling and awareness campaigns on a regular basis.
    • Facilitates task force meetings on IPV in healthcare settings. The task force has multidisciplinary stakeholders from the hospital and clinics.
    • Develops and presents workshops and trainings on IPV issues to the hospital community.
    • Reviews cases with hospital teams and coordinates follow-ups when needed.
    • Attends trainings and weekly supervision where required by agency and hospital partner.
    • Evaluates program services using client surveys and develops new program concepts.
    • Develops printed materials, public service announcements, and public relations as needed.
    • Other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • Bachelor's Degree or 2+ years of related experience required. Related experience includes: outreach, counseling, advocacy, training and/or education (with curriculum development).
    • Experience working in a healthcare or community services setting is a plus.
    • Flexible scheduling required on occasional evenings and weekends. No overtime required.
    • This position requires strong listening and interpersonal skills, and effective problem-solving skills. Candidates must be comfortable with public speaking. This position requires good documentation skills with attention to detail and schedule management.
    • This position requires working on a team and by alone. Candidates should have strong organization and communication skills.
    • This position serves a diverse group of individuals with a high standard of client care.

    Other Requirements:

    • Hospital partners require proof of COVID, flu, and other vaccines (MMR, TDap, etc.)
    • Hospital partners will conduct drug testing during onboarding process
    • FBI fingerprinting, PA State Criminal background check, and Child Abuse Clearances before starting.
    • Paid on-the-job training includes a state-mandated 40-hour domestic violence training. Five hours of double staffing within the BDVP program is also required.

    Salary structure transparency:

    • IPV Specialist offers range from 40-43k, pending experience.
    • Bilingual IPV Specialist offers range from 43-45k, pending experience.
