    Job Title: Outreach Coordinator

    Reports To: CDBG Grant Manger

    Job Type: Non-exempt, hourly

    Supervises: None

    Location: This position is based in Upper Lake, CA in Lake County. Required field work within Lake County and surrounding areas; some remote work is possible.

    Salary: $25.00-$30.00 per hour depending on experience. / 20 hours / week

    Organizational Vision:

    The Tribal EcoRestoration Alliance (TERA) is a cross-cultural, multi-organizational collaborative that works to revitalize ecology, economy, and culture through indigenous-led stewardship. The mission of TERA, founded in 2019, is to cultivate land stewardship, livelihood, and leadership skills that weave collaborative relationships between Tribal members and the community at large for the benefit of all lands and beings. Our program goals include:

    • Strengthen ties to land and culture;
    • Connect Tribal members with meaningful livelihoods and culturally relevant work in their ancestral territories;
    • Regenerate the local ecology of the North Coast Ranges, and improve resilience to fire; and
    • Build capacity for Native voices to play a central role in land stewardship.

    Position Summary:

    The outreach coordinator will lead outreach, recruitment, and community engagement efforts for the Lake Wildfire Resilience Workforce Program (LWRWP) for 20 hours / week. This grant aims to engage low-income Lake County residents in TERA’s training programs.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Outreach & Community Engagement for CDBG Grant:
      • Develop and execute outreach campaigns in collaboration with CDBG Grant Manager and community partners to raise awareness about the available programs and services
      • Enhance relationships with community partners and organizations to leverage resources and expand outreach efforts
      • Actively engage target populations to promote participation in programs
      • Assist with the completion of program enrollment documents
      • Maintain data including a list of individuals to follow up with at in-person registration event
      • Host TERA tables and attend outreach events in collaboration with community partners
      • Facilitate field trips to TERA programs
      • Draft and finalize content for outreach plan including bilingual social media posts, flyers, and newsletter blasts
      • Track and report on outreach efforts to achieve strategic goals and grant deliverables.

    Professional Qualifications:

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • AA in Communications, Graphic Design or similar field;
    • 3 years demonstrated ability to effectively support Tribal or nonprofit programming in outreach, education, or stewardship work;
    • 3 years experience speaking in front of groups and presenting content to different audiences;
    • Ability to effectively use and navigate Google Drive, Microsoft Office, Canva, Squarespace, web maintenance and graphic design software, and other computer programs;
    • Experience working with Tribal communities; willingness to learn about contemporary challenges, concerns, and interests of Tribal community and ecology in Pomo country;
    • Able to work with diverse groups, build and maintain strong working relationships;
    • Able to develop and follow a prioritized plan of work, set and keep deadlines, and work on multiple projects concurrently;
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to listen well, and write and speak effectively;
    • Flexible, adaptable, and resourceful;
    • Able to contribute to a high-functioning, collaborative, dynamic team environment; and
    • Vehicle and valid driver’s license.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Graphic Design or similar field
