    Description

    Title: Volunteer Engagement Associate (Medical Brigades)

    Location: USA (remote)

    Language(s): English

    Purpose Statement: A critical role responsible for organizational growth, volunteer engagement, and retention. The Volunteer Engagement Associate (VEA) focuses on creating, nurturing, closing, and retaining leads for all of Global Medical Brigades’ in-person and virtual programming. The VEA reports directly to the Growth Team Lead.

    Responsibilities include but not limited to:

    Lead Generation, Lead Management & Chapter Creation (80%)

    • Interact professionally with potential volunteers via phone, email, telephone conferencing, webinars, on social media and in person, cater to their unique needs, and convert leads into chapter leaders.
    • Pursue all leads that come in through websites, social media, and referrals.
    • Nurture and convert inbound leads into chapters and begin the planning processes of their brigade, to help meet organization-wide growth goals.
    • Maintain organized and accurate lead conversion information and activity reports in Hubspot CRM.
    • Provide engaging and articulate information about Global Brigades’ value proposition to potential leaders and provide customized support as they navigate the Chapter creation process.
    • Work with the Marketing and Program Teams to foster partnerships with official and unofficial partners to promote all Medical Brigades programs.
    • Creatively generate new lead opportunities by capitalizing on internal opportunities (brigades, student leadership conferences, Campus Chairperson program, internships), and external opportunities (external conferences, distributing marketing materials, webinars) on occasion.
    • Collaborate with the Marketing Team on social posts, blog content, ideas for landing pages, external conferences etc. in order to generate new leads.
    • Create and maintain updates of chapter creation marketing materials and plan to conduct active outreach to students.
    • Increase retention by maintaining strong chapter relationships after they have completed their brigades by encouraging leader transitions and future brigade planning.
    • Collaborate with the Marketing team to develop nurturing campaigns and email content.

    CRM Development & Management (10%)

    • Ensuring quick follow up times and frequent touch points with leads and contacts.
    • Support in the creation of strategic workflows to drive lead conversion and retention across all audiences.
    • Maintain communication processes for lead conversion, engagement, and retention across all audiences in Hubspot CRM.
    • Act as a resource to maximize CRM efficiency across departments and boards.
    • Conduct quarterly updates and analysis of Hubspot materials to keep current and responsive to student trends.

    Leadership Development Programs (Campus Chairpersons and Chapter Leaders) (10%)

    • Support Campus Chairpersons to represent their campus, unite and empower their chapters, and grow the GB movement by providing mentorship and guidance as needed.
    • Facilitate monthly Campus Chairperson meetings which aim to foster a support network and provide guidance with common chapter challenges
    • Grow the Campus Chairperson program by retaining existing and identifying new Campus Chairpersons through various recruitment initiatives and cross-team collaboration.
    • Maintain the Campus Chairperson base year to year by facilitating strong leadership transitions and executing various retention initiatives.
    • Lead coordination of conferences in conjunction with Campus Chairpersons by creating conference web pages, coordinating recruitment efforts, curating itineraries, and ensuring logistics are executed.
    • Attend internal and external conferences as needed to present and facilitate conference activities, speak passionately about the organization, and foster meaningful connections with leaders/volunteers.

    Minimal Requirements:

    • Verbal and written fluency in English required
    • Bachelor’s degree or educational equivalency required
    • Previous experience with Global Brigades or other international volunteer programs preferred
    • Experience with CRM (Hubspot) is preferred
    • Organized, with an ability to identify new projects and prioritize time-sensitive assignments
    • Must be comfortable with public speaking and confidence with engaging in groups (English)
    • Able to adhere to the organization’s virtual work environment policies and maintain regular, consistent working hours (Monday-Friday)
    • Strong communication skills; able to work in a virtual environment and adhere to virtual work policies
    • Strong passion and ability to communicate Global Brigades’ holistic model
    • Minimal travel to Global Brigades events as needed
    • Reliable internet and the ability to work from home

    Compensation and Logistics:

    • Staff member is based in USA
    • Monthly Salary
    • 20 hours/week if part time or 40 hours/week if full time
    • Receives work computer / subsidy
    • May be eligible for health insurance or reimbursement
