    Descripción

    The Specialist, Benefits & Compliance will focus on benefits, compliance, and reporting. The Specialist will have knowledge of Human Resources and will be responsible for day-to-day cross functional support including but not limited to benefits, human resources compliance, and HRIS data entry.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Ensure the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in Workday and provide vendors with accurate eligibility information;
    • Prepare ongoing and ad-hoc special reports pertaining to employee information and data, including onboarding, transitions, turnover, etc.;
    • Support the development and implementation of policies and procedures; prepare and maintain Employee Handbook;
    • Assist in the administration of Open Enrollment, as needed;
    • Responds to 403(b) inquiries from managers and employees relating to enrollments, plan changes, and contribution amounts. Manages the annual catch-up contribution enrollment;
    • Responds to benefits inquiries from employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes, and other general inquiries;
    • Oversee maintena­nce of employee benefits files, maintain group benefits database and update employee records;
    • Complete employee transactions, ensuring that Workday is up to date and remains accurate: enrollments, beneficiaries, COBRA, terminations;
    • Use Workday to compile reports and conduct workforce analytics; assist in preparing and filing EEO-1 and other compliance reports;
    • Ensure that all labor law and compliance posters are available and displayed in appropriate areas;
    • Monitor changes in laws and regulations that impact employee benefits and take appropriate action to ensure compliance;
    • Assist with hiring Fixed term workers using Workday and E-Verify
    • Run audits on a regular, scheduled basis to ensure that complete and accurate information is maintained in Workday;
    • Audit expenses related to benefit payouts;
    • Assist with processing bills for benefit premium payments and 403b transmissions;
    • Conduct new employee orientation and support Talent and Workforce Planning as needed;
    • Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of HR department and service delivery;
    • Other relevant duties, as assigned.

    Qualified candidates will have outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and management. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Additional qualifications include:

    • At least 2 years of experience in human resources;
    • Demonstrated knowledge of Workday or another HRIS system;
    • Familiarity with local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations as well as HR policies, practices, and procedures;
    • Analytical skills with ability to evaluate statistical information;
    • Advanced Excel skills, including macros and pivot tables, are preferred.
