    Descripción

Contractor, $50 per hour, 10-20 hours per week. Location: Remote

Anthropocene Alliance (A2) is the nation’s largest coalition of frontline communities fighting for environmental protection. We represent more than 400 member-communities in all U.S. states and territories. They are impacted by flooding, toxic waste, wildfires, drought and heat — all compounded by reckless development and climate change.

The goal of A2 is to help communities fight back. We do that by providing them organizing support, scientific and technical guidance, and better access to foundation and government funding. Equally important, our work consists of listening to our frontline leaders. Their experience, research, and solidarity guide everything we do.

We are seeking an energetic, smart, flexible, and hard-working coastal and watershed planning expert to carry out research and mapping, conduct (virtual) meetings with A2 members, agency staff and nonprofit partners, and prepare reports and grants. The contractor will report to Emily Monroe, Director of Grant Writing and Technical Services.

    Qualifications:

    The applicant:

    • Is an experience coastal and/or watershed planner, with outstanding analytical, research, mapping and writing skills.
    • Is comfortable conducting meetings with government agencies and community-based organizations.
    • Is able to work outside business hours if required by community leaders.
    • Has at least a Masters degree, likely in the sciences
    • Is a strong writer, clear speaker, and good listener
    • Is motivated by the chance to work on the most profound challenge of our time.
