    The New York League of Conservation Voters (NYLCV) is the only statewide environmental organization in New York that fights for clean water, clean air, renewable energy, and open space through policy advocacy and politics. We’re nonpartisan, pragmatic, and effective with a proven track record of success. Along with our sister organizations, the NYLCV Education Fund, NYLCV Victory Fund, and NYLCV Gives Green, we educate the public about a broad range of important issues and elect candidates that will champion our priorities of climate action and environmental protections.

    Position Summary

    The Development Coordinator will provide key administrative support to the Development Department in achieving its annual fundraising plan. This person will report to the Senior Director of Development and will work closely with the Development & Events Coordinator, Chief of Staff and President.

    Essential Functions & Responsibilities

    Administration

    • Update gifts pledged and received in NYLCV database and create weekly revenue reports
    • Process gifts in a timely manner
    • Create, manage and keep record of all invoices and managing external vendor portals
    • Track outstanding pledges and reconcile payments with the accountants
    • Manage the donor acknowledgement process including monthly letters
    • Pull lists from the database and organize relevant information on tracking sheets
    • Schedule development related meetings internally and externally
    • Assist with twice yearly board engagement profiles
    • Supporting the Development team with the yearly audit
    • Other research and administrative tasks as needed

    Corporate Partners Program

    • Manage the Corporate Partners tracking sheet including updating company contacts, payment information and renewal timelines
    • Draft and send renewal letters in a timely manner for all partners
    • Keep all external facing platforms updated with correct partner logos and names
    • Keep up to date records of past speakers, partners and prospects. Research prospective partners as needed.
    • Coordinate breakfast logistics including scheduling with host offices
    • Draft and send breakfast invitations and tracking guest lists for breakfasts

    Events

    • Support the Development & Events Coordinator with event planning and checklists
    • Ensure all event revenue is tracked and coded correctly
    • Support the Development team with day-of event logistics and operations
    • Research event venues and sponsors as needed

    Qualifications

    • Approximately 2-4 years of experience working in a professional office setting.
    • Experience with nonprofit fundraising is preferred.
    • Experience working within a CRM or data management system is required
    • Proficiency with Google Suite and Microsoft Office, including Sheets and Excel
    • Strong writing and research skills
    • Attention to detail and strong organization skills are a must
    • Ability to multitask and conduct multiple projects simultaneously
    • Event operation experience is a plus
    • Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with board members and donors
    • General interest in environmental issues such as climate change, open spaces, transportation, and public health
    • General interest in social and environmental justice.

    Position Details

    Location: 30 Broad St, 30th Fl, New York, NY 10004

    NYLCV’s headquarters are located in downtown Manhattan. This position will require travel occasionally to periodic events and programs throughout New York City and elsewhere in the State. Some morning and evening hours are required.

    This is a permanent full-time position based in New York City although NYLCV is currently operating in a hybrid work setting. At least two days per week in the office is required. The salary is $55,000-$65,000 depending on experience along with holiday, vacation, 401k plan, and health/dental/vision benefits.
