The Department of Economics and Business at the City College of New York is hiring an Academic and Career Adviser to create career pathways and expand employment opportunities for students studying finance and related fields.
This position is made possible by the CUNY Inclusive Economy Initiative, sponsored by the Office of Careers & Industry Partnerships (OCIP) at the City University of New York. The person hired will be embedded in CCNY’s Department of Economics and Business and will report to Prabal De, the Department’s Chair. They will also be part of the dynamic team in the Colin Powell School’s Office of Academic Advising and Office of Student Success. The salary range for this position is $81,712-$86,188. The Academic/Career Advisor will be expected to work in-person on CCNY’s campus in New York City. They will be an employee of the CUNY Research Foundation, which provides a comprehensive benefits package.
They will work with finance and business industry partners to support a cohort of at least 200 undergraduate students majoring in Economics and Business to connect them with relevant internship or full-time opportunities in a selected industry. Responsibilities include:

The Department of Economics and Business is home to the second largest and fastest growing undergraduate major at The City College of New York. In Fall 2025, there were more than 1,200 undergraduate majors. In 2025, the department will launch a Bachelor’s in Business Administration degree with three tracks: (1) finance, (2) entrepreneurship, and (3) management.
