    FoodCorps is seeking project management support in developing a set of professional learning modules. The learning modules will be designed for adult learners who work with youth and are interested in implementing key elements of FoodCorps’ programmatic approach to food education. Training content will be developed using many of FoodCorps’ existing resources but some additional content research may be necessary. Depending on the topic, modules will be designed to run between half-day to 2-day long sessions and will cover both theory and application of skills. This person will work closely with the Director, Consulting & Training Services.

    The selected contractor will:

    • Support in the production of content and related support materials for up to three professional learning modules. The topics include:
      • Basics of hands-on food education: Strategies, Skills, and Tools (1-2 days);
      • Creating belonging through Food: utilizing culturally affirming practices (Half day); and
      • Student Voice and Choice in the Cafeteria (Half day)
    • Review and leverage existing FoodCorps training materials to support module development
    • Research and synthesize additional information as needed to meet module objectives
    • Design compelling, engaging, and interactive presentations with opportunities for participants to internalize and apply concepts to their specific organizational contexts
    • Internalize feedback from focus groups and make adjustments to training modules as needed

    More about the training modules:

    • Training modules are intended to be taught by a live facilitator using a presentation deck and other supporting materials.
    • Depending on contractor experience, more than one contractor may be selected to complete the suite of modules
    • Each training will be developed using an agreed upon outline, objectives and approach
    • Anticipated Timeline:
      • Mid-January-February - module development
      • March - April testing with focus group organized by FoodCorps staff
      • May - integration of feedback and finalization of materials

    Expertise in adult development and learning required, particularly experience synthesizing information to be presented and internalized in compelling ways.

    Experience designing impactful presentations using Powerpoint required.

    Experience training in social justice and/or education spaces and knowledge of food education is preferred.

    • a resume outlining your experiences developing content for professional learning;
    • an example of a recent training you developed;
    • a proposed budget that is inclusive of work outlined in the scope and indicate which modules you are interested in working on
    • two references (contact information and their affiliation to you) – references will not be contacted without your knowledge.

    Submissions will be reviewed on a rolling basis and select contractors will be notified by December 20 latest for further discussion of their proposal. Note: FoodCorps will be closed between December 23, 2024 and January 3, 2025 for Winter Break.
