    Description

    Family Promise of Beaufort County is seeking a well-qualified individual to serve as its Executive Director (ED). The ED provides leadership for FPBC by articulating and advocating the organization’s vision, mission and values.

    The Executive Director will oversee all aspects of Family Promise of Beaufort County to ensure the organization is high-performing and has the necessary resources to deliver on its mission. This position will excel at maintaining positive relations with partner entities, stakeholders, investors/ donors, board members and Family Promise regional staff. Simultaneously, the ED will have great business acumen, an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for our mission.

    Family Promise of Beaufort County (FPBC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that unites with the community to provide prevention, diversion, and temporary non-emergency housing to families with children experiencing housing instability. FPBC is one of the over 195 affiliates of Family Promise, Inc., which was established in 1986. FPBC opened its doors in 2008 with the mission to help unhoused and low-income families achieve sustainable independence. Our vision is a community in which every family has a home, a livelihood, and a chance to build a better future together.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in related field; advanced degree preferred
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly public speaking ability.
    • Minimum three years of management/supervisory experience
    • Minimum of three years related experience working in and around non-profit organizations
    • Outstanding organizational, delegation and problem-solving skills. The ability to think creatively and entrepreneurially.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
    • Demonstrated success in fund development and financial management. P & L, budgeting and fundraising experience is essential.
    • Demonstrated experience with grant writing and identifying new grant opportunities.
    • Proven experience using social media to promote the organization’s mission.
    • Maturity, compassion, and empathy for families served and an ability to relate to individuals from many different racial, ethnic, religious and class backgrounds.
    • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with community partners, volunteers, corporations, and boards.
    • Desire to work in community service and comfortable advocating for those experiencing housing instability. Experience working with issues impacting housing instability preferred but not required.
    • Proficient with MS Office software, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Familiar with and proficient in database programs and program report development.

    Duties

    • Fiscal and general management of FPBC’s operations including but not limited to operational planning, staff management and development, case and program administration, fund development, public relations, facility management, board of director education and engagement, and other related tasks
    • Build broad support for FPBC and cultivates organizational growth through building relationships among a wide-ranging network of volunteers, donors, community members, and the general public to achieve FPBC’s goals

    Accountability: The Executive Director will report to the Board of Directors of Family Promise of Beaufort County.
