    ETHEL seeks a Development Director (part-time) to head our ongoing fundraising, marketing, and development needs. This professional must have an established background in leadership, nonprofit fundraising strategies, and corporate sponsorship cultivation.

    This role involves directing substantial fundraising initiatives, managing fundraising and cultivation events, building and sustaining relationships with foundations, government funders, corporations, board members, and individual donors.

    The Development Director will liaise with the Executive Director and members of string quartet ETHEL (Artistic Directors) to maintain a consistent marketing message for the organization, to include working with AMT PR, our marketing consultant, and overseeing social media efforts and web site updates.

    Our ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years of development experience, preferably in an arts, or arts-related field.

    Some of the main tasks:

    • Driving our fundraising initiatives.
    • Cultivating mission-led partnerships and developing new sources of philanthropic funding.
    • Writing and assembling funding proposals; maintaining grants calendar and executing required reports and funder meetings.
    • Planning and evaluating fundraising campaigns and activities, including special events
    • Representing the company at performances and events.
    • Identifying and stewarding prospective donors.
    • Staying on top of fundraising trends and the nonprofit/performing arts community.
    • Reporting on fundraising activity to staff and board of directors

    Preferred skills:
