    Lenfest Scholars Foundation

Since 2002, the Lenfest College Scholarship Program (LCSP) has helped talented rural students from our partner high schools in south-central Pennsylvania to enroll and succeed in college. Lenfest Scholars receive college scholarships, assistance in applying for college admission and financial aid, and advice and support throughout their college years. In 2014, the Lenfest Scholars Foundation (LSF) was created to administer the program. With the success of the LCSP in identifying outstanding Scholars and the Scholars’ success in gaining admission to excellent colleges, the program's mission has broadened. This expanded mission includes more extensive advice and support throughout the time Scholars are in college. The program now works with 23 partner high schools and supports over 175 students currently in college, 40 new Scholars (high school seniors) each year, and over 400 alums.

    Position Overview

The Lenfest Scholars Foundation seeks a creative, motivated, and organized Communications Assistant (CA) to support our communications initiatives and processes. Reporting directly to the Director of Engagement (DE), the CA will assist with external aspects of the program’s operation, such as social media, newsletters, digital resources, content creation, and managing event websites. This part-time, hybrid position is based out of Wayne, PA, and includes both remote and on-site responsibilities. The exact schedule will be determined in consultation with the DE. Occasional evening and weekend work is required.

    Data Management and Project Support:

    • Assist in managing projects that align with the Foundation’s goals and objectives, such as:
      • Cleaning up data in Mailchimp and streamlining contacts for better engagement tracking.
      • Updating and organizing resources within the community portal to enhance user experience.
      • Collaborating on initiatives that support Scholar and alumni engagement.
    • Monitor project progress and provide updates to the Director of Engagement.
    • Check the community portal email address, track inquiries, and forward them as needed to ensure timely responses.

    Event Management:

    • Manage event website and registration via Bizzabo.
    • Manage registration data, providing updates to ensure targets are met.
    • Responsible for registration data cleanup.
    • Utilize Bizzabo to send event announcements and reminder emails leading up to and during events.
    • Manage the flow of inquiries, issues, and questions directed to the LSF Events email.
    • Provide on-site support during events to ensure their smooth execution.
    • Follow up with surveys and thank-you emails, and complete post-event reports.
    • Serve on the Community Weekend team, assisting with planning and implementation, including collecting and importing crucial information into Bizzabo, managing registration data, and responding to inquiries leading up to Community Weekend.

    Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree or currently enrolled in a graduate program, or an undergraduate program (3rd year or above) in communications, marketing, nonprofit management, or a related field.
